🌿 Spring is here… and so are the birds 🐦
Around this time of year, we start getting the same question:
“Can you still cut hedges and carry out tree work during nesting season?”
The short answer?
Yes 👍 in many cases we can.
For TP Tree Works, it’s never a case of just turning up and cracking on.
From March onwards, birds begin nesting in hedgerows, trees and thick vegetation right across South Devon. Gardens, fields, development sites, it's remarkable where they choose their homes.
⚠️Before we start any work, we carry out careful checks of the area. We’re looking for signs of nesting activity and anything that means we need to adjust our plans.
If we come across an active nest, that part of the job gets left alone until nature has finished doing its thing. It’s as simple as that.⚠️
Most projects can still move forward, but occasionally timings need a tweak — and that’s why a bit of forward planning really helps.
🌳 Thinking About Spring Works?
If you’ve got:
🌿Hedges that need bringing back under control
🌿Trees due a prune or reduction
🌿Vegetation to clear
🌿Land to prepare
It’s worth getting booked in sooner rather than later. Spring fills up quickly, and nesting checks can sometimes affect scheduling.
We work across South Devon helping clients manage their land safely and sensibly and that includes being mindful of what’s living in it too.
If you’re unsure about your specific job, just give us a call. We’ll always talk it through properly.
