I offer fully insured, guided shore Bass fishing from the beautiful, majestic and remote South Devon coastline. I live in South Devon and have fished the ‘South Hams’ for Bass, Wrasse, Rays and Pollack since I was 9 years old. However, the hard fighting, and sometimes elusive Bass is, and has been, the number one target for the past 10 years; with lure fishing in particular (hard plugs, surface lures and soft plastics) the general method of choice. My Journey

Having been inspired by Bass angling legends such as Mike Ladle and John Darling, it took me a number of seasons through my teenage years to even hook my first Bass (on an original Rapala plug) which subsequently ran across a finger of rock resulting in the line parting - I think I nearly cried!! Since that moment it has been my mission to learn as much as possible about the when, where, why and how to catch what is, in my humble opinion, the most sporting sea fish in UK waters - the Bass. It is this hard earned knowledge that will provide a fast-track to your own success, learning and happy memories of catching this supreme predator.

A monumental bass, and the 2nd 'Double' achieved this season for our clients at South Devon Bass Guide. Here's my 2nd Guide Joe's client (Mark) holding a very, very special bass, and undoubtedly a 'fish of a life-time'. 😁🎣💥

Hooked, landed, and safely released (video to follow) during one of Joe's recent 3 Day Packages (details of which can be found on the website - link below) this absolute 'animal' snaffled a BASS LURES UK Creature Bait that had been cast, worked, and retrieved a little too close to its lair following some expert guidance... 😊

Sight-Fished✅ 61cm, and a new PB 💪 for my client Dave Griffen during a recent session with me at South Devon Bass Guide 🎣😁
Dave and I watched, as this dark-backed bass cruised in and out of a mini-lagoon, scooping up tiny fry and shrimp as the tide gently flowed into it.

A tiny Gilthead Bream took the Megabass initially, and it was as we were going to take a quick photo that Dave spotted the dark shape again so back she plopped... 😂
A flick of the wrist, the dark shape turned, bristled, and then steamed in as his Major Craft MC Edition slammed around. Fish on!!! 💥💥💥

In this video, I provide an insight into how I/we guide my/our clients at South Devon Bass Guide by describing 2x recent 'Client Captures' - their first ever using the ‪Megabass Sleeper Craw🦀

Both were achieved via a very similar tactic/method, but with subtle differences that I cover in detail within this production. There is Drone Footage of bass behaviour that I continue to capture, and a great deal of information for the avid bass lure angler to follow and digest.

A recent capture for my client Nathan, who joined me for a series of professionally guided bass lure fishing sessions/lessons at South Devon Bass Guide Ltd (link to website below).

Of significance, is that not only was this 57cm bass 'lured' within water barely deep enough to cover its back, but it was clearly situated/positioned under the canopy of trees present, in order to seek the shade, and therefore out of the very hot and sunny weather we've been experiencing in the UK.

With the aid of Action Camera footage, in this production I talk through my thought process in regards to WHY I asked my client to target a very specific zone, in addition the HOW I wanted him to go about it.

A Professionally Guided Session and Lesson, out on the stunning south Devon coastline saw this 'portly' near-60cm bass latch onto an unweighted Savage Gear Gravity Stick Paddle Tail.

My 2nd Guide Joe had instructed Adrian to target a specific section of the beach they were fishing as the tide ebbed out. What's more, Adrian was followed in by an even bigger one that cruised in behind the lure later into dusk... 😵‍💫

Yet another 'well-fed' bass to fall for the charms of something representing a 'Chunky Crab' 🦀😂 this time from within a section of 'skinny' water early into the newly flooding tide 👌

Although he doesn't look it (it is shock!) I can assure you that Alex was absolutely 'over the Moon' with his new Personal Best, and has booked in for a 3 Day Package with me in 2027 💥

ALL OVER 50cm and ALL SIGHT-FISHED... 👀 💥💪A tremendous haul (that were ALL released) for Gareth, who joined my 2nd Guide Joe for some professional bass lure fishing lessons just recently at South Devon Bass Guide

The very, very exciting subcategory to this marvellous pastime that is 'Sight-Fishing for bass with creature baits was something that Gareth (who is a very experienced angler in his own right) wanted to experience during these guided sessions.

Five bass, and a hell of a lot learnt, that Gareth was delighted to be able to take back to his local patch - although he has already booked up with Joe again in September! Superb fishing and guiding guys - brilliant 👌🎣😁
