Loughborough University is inviting HGV drivers to take part in research into Vulnerable Road User (VRU) detection systems fitted to trucks.

The findings will help inform future vehicle safety regulations and how these technologies can better protect pedestrians and cyclists while working effectively for drivers and operators. The more drivers who contribute, the stronger the evidence will be to help shape practical, effective and proportionate future safety regulation.

Who can take part?
Drivers aged 18 or over.
Holders of a C1 (including C1+E), C or C+E licence.

Deadline: 25 September 2026. It won’t take long to fill out. We would be very grateful for your support in cascading the survey to your drivers and encouraging them to take part.
