⬆️ Levelling up our Print Department ⬆️

With over £850,000 invested in new machinery and technology over the last 18 months, we've completely overhauled our print department.

This transformation includes adding two new printers to our fleet, EFI’s M5h and 5Qr, as well as a new Easymount laminator.

These investments help us deliver the quality and turnaround our customers know and love, 'The Greens Difference', while increasing capacity as demand grows.

Throwback to Ninja Warrior Germany ⭐

Recent international work for Ninja Warrior took us back to supporting the opening of Germany’s first Ninja Warrior Adventure Park.

One of the highlights of this project was the built-up acrylic stars in the park’s cafeteria.

Updating two Designer Sofas stores, Thurrock and Watford, with all new signage.

From lightbox graphics and Foamex letters to faux-neon and free-standing signs, the interiors retailer utilises a range of signage solutions to bring its strong aesthetic to life and create premium retail spaces.

Completing a full store project for Designer Sofas is a real team effort, with all eight of our factory departments involved.

Well done Team Greens!

National Picture Theatre, Hull is almost ready to open!

We’re proud to have worked on the National Picture Theatre restoration project for Hobson & Porter.

Fewer than 20 bomb ruins from the Second World War have survived in England, and the NPT is the only existing civilian example.

Soon, over 111 years after its original opening in December 1914, the National Picture Theatre will reopen as a WW2 memorial.

This has particular local significance in our hometown of Hull, as it is cited as having been the city most heavily damaged in the war, with 95% of Hull’s houses damaged.

The stainless steel flat-cut letters that we installed to reflect the original signage are just one small part of the extensive works to restore this historical landmark.

Managed by the National Civilian World War II Memorial Trust, the National Picture Theatre will be open to the public and run educational programmes to teach future generations about the impact of the Second World War.

With several totems passing through our shop floor recently, what better opportunity to showcase the scale and range of our in-house manufacturing.

From aluminium fabrication to powder coating, printing, CAD cutting and final assembly, totems bring together many of our specialist departments in one sign.

With 27,500 square feet of factory space, as well as our external storage, we can manufacture multiple large-scale totems simultaneously.

Shout out to our metal fabricator, Vinnie, pictured working on a totem frame.

Congratulations are in order for our customers B&Q and WHSmith! 🎉

Last week, it was announced that B&Q and WHSmith were shortlisted for New Store of the Year at The Retail Excellence Awards 2026.

We couldn’t be prouder of our part to play in these projects: B&Q’s first standalone TradePoint store and WHSmith’s new Terminal 5 one-stop shop at Heathrow.

It’s amazing to see not only one but two of our projects among the seven nominees in this category – well done Team Greens!

In our eyes, both sites are deserved winners! 🏆

Back to where it all began…

Following the Second World War, our founder Reg Green started signwriting fascias and number plates to meet new demand.

Fast forward six decades, and last month his son and grandson, Chris Green and Lawrence Green, travelled to Worthing to attend a signwriting masterclass by David Mearns of Signmode.

There, they brushed up on their skills in this now lesser-used art form, which was the foundation of Greens the Signmakers.

In fact, Chris even painted traditional lettering using his father’s original brushes!

With digital detoxes and organic, handmade products increasing in demand, could traditional signwriting be poised for a revival?

The modern technology behind a traditional aesthetic.

Passing our signage at Thomas the Baker’s flagship Helmsley store over the weekend reminded us how modern manufacturing can help recreate the character and craftsmanship of traditional sign making.

This aluminium signage was cut using one of our CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, our flatbed router, before being finished with a rust-effect coating.

Such intricate detailing would have been challenging with traditional metalworking methods, but our CNC machines offer impressive precision and can recreate a traditional look with much greater ease.
