A weaver of wholeness and an award winning therapist, who has been holding a safe space for women, guiding them through life's challenges and changes for 10 years working with a deep soul journey, sound healing, hypnotherapy, cycles of Nature and Moon, rituals and different spiritual practices. I offer a safe space for women who feel like there is more to life than their "usual" day to day work and home life, who want to get back home to themselves, make their life sacred, step into their wild women power, explore and accept their light and shadow to integrate them both and become whole again. Once we are whole, we feel like we are belonging, we feel full of life and energy, our life flows harmoniously, we are more resilient and can deal with daily struggles and stresses with ease, we see the world with different eyes and can feel our wild woman power rising again.

Sound, ceremony and finding your own path

My own work with sound and ceremony is deeply rooted in Earth-based spirituality.

I'm a Priestess, walking a Druid path and I often work with the Wheel of the Year, the turning seasons, the land, the cycles of nature and life and the themes and symbolism that arise from them.

So you'll often find these threads woven into my own gong meditations and ceremonies.

But The Way of Sacred Sound isn't about teaching people to become Druids or Priestesses.

It's about learning how to work with sound, ceremony and facilitation in a way that is authentic to you.

During the training, we'll explore how sound can sit within a wider ceremonial framework. How you might work with themes, intention, symbolism, ritual, opening and closing, and create a meaningful container for an experience.

But the spiritual framework you bring to that is yours.

Perhaps you're drawn to Earth-based spirituality or Buddhism or another Eastern philosophy informs your practice.

Perhaps you have a different spiritual tradition altogether.

Perhaps your practice is spiritual but doesn't fit neatly into any particular path.

That's all welcome.

I don't want everyone leaving this training with the same beliefs, the same ceremonies or the same language.

I want you to understand the principles of creating a ceremony and then have the freedom to explore how those principles meet your own practice.

Your spirituality can become one of the layers through which you create meaning:

sound + intention + theme + ritual + symbolism + presence

And those layers will look different for different people. The important thing is that they are genuine.

Not borrowed because someone told you that's what a sound ceremony is supposed to look like.

Not copied from somebody else's spiritual practice. But something that has meaning for you and therefore can be held authentically for the people you work with.

That's part of becoming a practitioner too.

Finding your own voice. Your own relationship with sound. And your own way of bringing ceremony into your sound work.

What makes a sound journey different?

Over the years, I've pondered a lot in what is it that makes a sound experience feel like a journey, rather than simply an hour of beautiful sounds?

Because beautiful sounds aren't necessarily enough. You can have wonderful instruments, a lovely space and all the right ingredients, but still find that the experience doesn't really go anywhere.

O came to my own conclusion, that the difference is in the listening.

Listening to the sound itself, to the space, to the people in front of you, to what is changing.

And knowing when to build, when to hold, when to shift, when to leave things alone and when silence is actually the most appropriate sound.

I don't believe everyone should have the same experience.

One person might experience a sound as deeply grounding. Another might find exactly the same sound unsettling. Someone might have a strong emotional response, while someone else simply notices their breathing change.

None of those experiences is more correct than the others.

As a facilitator, my job isn't to decide what someone should experience. It's to create the conditions in which their own experience can unfold.

That's something I've learned through many years of working with sound and with very different groups of people.

And it's one of the things I want to explore much more deeply in The Way of Sacred Sound.

Because I don't want to teach people simply what to play. I want to teach them how to listen, notice, discern and respond.

How to create movement and depth without forcing an outcome. How to work with sound as part of a wider ceremony. And ultimately, how to hold a space where there is room for each person to have their own journey.

That's a very different skill from simply knowing how to play an instrument.

I don't want to create Mini Monikas. 😂

One of the things that I find important about The Way of Sacred Sound is that I am not training people to become versions of me.

I'm very happy for people to learn from my experience, as that's one of the reasons I'm teaching.

I'll share the things I've learned over more than 15 years of working with sound, ceremony, facilitation and very different groups of people.

I'll share the things that have worked and also the things that haven't. Because there have been plenty of those too. 😂

But at some point, the learning has to become yours.

You might work with completely different instruments from me. You might have a different voice. You might create very different ceremonies. You might work with people in ways I've never considered.

And that's not a problem, that's the point.

I'm interested in helping you develop your own relationship with sound, rather than handing you a set of sequences to reproduce.

So we'll explore the principles behind what we're doing.

We'll look at listening, the function of sound, ceremony, the Archetypal Voices, holding space, responding to people and reading what is happening in the room.

And then I'll encourage you to experiment. To make your own choices, to get things wrong, to discover what feels authentic to you.

Because eventually, when someone comes into your sound experience, they should feel like they've met you.

That's one of the reasons I'm calling this The Way of Sacred Sound, rather than Monika's Way of Doing Gong Stuff. 😂

There is a foundation, there is experience and there is guidance.

But there is also room for your own voice.

I'd much rather graduate five very different practitioners than five Mini Monikas. 🌿

Why is The Way of Sacred Sound a whole year?

Because I don't think becoming a sound practitioner is something that needs to be rushed.

You can learn the basic technique of an instrument relatively quickly, but technique is only one part of the work.

Listening takes practice, holding space takes practice and reading a room takes practice. Learning how sound affects different people takes experience.

Finding your own voice as a facilitator takes time. And learning to trust your judgement, while also knowing when to question it, takes even longer.

So this training gives people space to:

Learn → Experience → Practise → Reflect → Receive feedback → Try again → Grow

There are five in-person training weekends spread across the year, with home practice, reflection, case studies, practical facilitation and opportunities to work with real people.

I don't want students to leave thinking:

“I've learnt all the techniques. I'm now a sound healer.”

I'd much rather they leave thinking:

“I know how to listen. I know how to respond. I know how to hold space. And I know how to keep learning.”

Because that's where the real work begins.

We are staring in November. If you feel drawn to the path of sound facilitator, please get in touch for more details.

Learning how to play instruments on The Way of Sacred Sound is big part of the course. Of course it is, but it is only one part of it.

Because knowing how to make a beautiful sound doesn't automatically teach you how to create a meaningful experience for another person.

We'll explore:

🌀 listening and sound awareness
🌀 working with gongs, singing bowls and percussion
🌀 sound and the nervous system
🌀 ceremony and structure
🌀 the Archetypal Voices of Sound
🌀 holding space
🌀 working with groups and individuals
🌀 intention and discernment
🌀 designing your own sound experiences
🌀 responding to what is actually happening in the room

And there won't be a set formula that you have to reproduce. I'm not going to give you:

“First play this instrument for three minutes, then this one for five minutes, then hit the gong twice like this…”

Because what happens if the ceremony needs something completely different?

Instead, I want you to understand why you might make a particular choice and to become confident enough to make a different choice when the situation calls for it.

That's the difference between learning a sequence and learning to facilitate.

We are starting in November, if you are drawn to join us, get in touch.

There is something else I want to do differently with The Way of Sacred Sound…

I don't want students arriving on day one with a shopping list of instruments as long as their arm. 😂

You do not need to spend thousands of pounds on instruments before you've even discovered what you actually like.

There will be opportunities throughout the training to work with different instruments and explore what you're naturally drawn towards.

You might discover that you love the gong. You might fall completely in love with singing bowls. You might discover that percussion is where your rhythm lives.

You might already play an instrument that you hadn't considered bringing into sound work. And that's absolutely fine too.

If you already have an instrument you love, we'll look at how you can incorporate it into your own sound work and ceremony, rather than telling you that you need to replace it with something else.

I'm much more interested in you developing a relationship with the instruments you use than collecting a room full of things because someone told you that you need them.

The instrument collection should grow from your practice, not the other way around.

We are starting in November. If you feel drawn to step on the path of sound, please get in touch.

One of the things that matters to me about The Way of Sacred Sound training is what happens after you've learnt the basics.

It's one thing to practise playing an instrument with the people on your training course. But it's another thing entirely to stand in front of a room full of people and think:

Right… they're all looking at me now. 😂

Facilitation takes a different kind of confidence.

So, as part of The Way of Sacred Sound, there will be opportunities for students to gain experience working with real people in real settings, with opportunities at the studio to facilitate sound experiences before they step out on their own.

This will be done with guidance, with feedback and with the chance to try things, get things wrong, learn what works and also learn what doesn't.

I don't expect someone to complete a training and suddenly feel that they have to know everything.

I want them to have had the opportunity to build their confidence gradually. Because holding space is not just about knowing which instrument to pick up next.

It's about being able to read the room, notice when something needs to change, know when to continue, know when to stop and sometimes know when the best thing you can do is absolutely nothing.

That kind of confidence comes from experience and opportunities to gain experience is a big part of The Way of Sacred Sound.

Why am I running The Way of Sacred Sound as a one-year training?

There are plenty of ways to learn how to play a gong or a singing bowl.

But learning to play an instrument and learning to hold sound for other people are two very different things.

I've been working with sound for more than 15 years, and during that time I've held sound experiences for a very wide range of people and settings.

🌀 Public gong meditations
🌀 1:1 session
🌀 Corporate groups
🌀 SEND groups
🌀 Hen parties
🌀 Care homes
🌀 Pregnancy
🌀 During birth
🌀 End of life
🌀 Ceremony and ritual

And, perhaps most importantly, people at very different points in their lives. People who are relaxed, people who are nervous, people who don't know what to expect, and people who need something very different from what I might have planned.

I've learned that there isn't one way to work with sound. There isn't one sequence that works for everyone. And there certainly isn't one instrument that magically does one particular thing.

The work is in learning to listen, notice, discern and respond. That's a big part of why I've created The Way of Sacred Sound.

I'm not interested in teaching people to become copies of me.

I want to help people develop the knowledge, experience, confidence and discernment to find their own way of working with sound.

And that's why this is a one-year training, rather than something I believe can be squeezed into a weekend.

We are starting in November. If you are interested and would like to know more, send me a message.

A new chapter in my work with sound is about to begin... 😁

For many years now, I’ve held gong meditations and sound ceremonies in a variety of settings. I watch people arrive, settle, listen, relax, go on a journey, and maybe laugh or cry. And gradually , along the way, I have been learning just how much there is to this work.

Over the years, people have asked me many times:

“Are you going to teach this?”
“When are you going to run a training?”

And for quite a while, my answer was essentially… maybe one day. 😂

Well, that day has now finally arrived.

After many conversations with Kerrina, and her gentle but persistent nudges towards stepping into this next part of my path, I’m very happy to finally announce:

The Way of Sacred Sound
A One-Year Training in Sound, Ceremony & Facilitation

Starting in November 2026, I’ll be taking a small group through a year-long journey into working with sound, ceremony and facilitation.

However, this isn't simply a course in how to play instruments.

Learning how to strike a gong or play a singing bowl is one thing. Learning how to listen to the sound, the people in front of you, the space, the nervous system, the silence, and what is actually needed in a moment, that is something else entirely.

This training has grown out of the way I have come to work with sound and hold the space myself.

There will be instruments, techniques, and plenty of hands-on practice, but also ceremony, listening, nervous-system awareness, holding space, working with groups and individuals, learning to respond rather than simply follow a sequence and finding your own authentic way of facilitating. I don't want students to become mini me.

And it is a one-year-long training for a reason.

I don't believe meaningful facilitation can be learnt in a weekend.

You can learn techniques quickly. But developing your listening, your presence, your discernment and your confidence in holding space takes time.

I want students to have time to learn, experience, practice, make mistakes, reflect, receive feedback and grow into the role. Rather than simply being handed a set of techniques and sent off with a certificate.

I've spent years holding sound for others. Now I'm ready to begin holding space for people who want to learn how to hold it themselves.

There are currently a few places available for the first training beginning this November.

If you've experienced my gong work and have ever wondered what happens on the other side of the gong, this might be the beginning of that journey.

Last night we floated into autumn. 🍂

As the nights draw in and the season is starting to shift, we gathered for a floating gong bath to welcome the autumn.

There is something about being cocooned in the silks with the gongs sounding that makes the season feel in your body. The vibration moves through you, loosening what summer left behind, making space for what autumn asks of us, from the slower pace and the turning inward to the reflection of the harvest .

Thank you to everyone who came and floated with us into the new season. 🙏
