The loyal soldier perhaps you think you don’t have one? Look a bit deeper look into that small dark place in your mind where you get your strength from. That voice that says you’re not enough but try hard harder, push longer and you might prove them wrong.
They are your friend, ally and loyal soldier through the struggles. The problem is that there is a tipping point, at some point they go quiet when they think you’ve reached where your limits.
They stop encouraging you and shouting you on from the sidelines and they start whispering words like, that that’s enough. Stay quiet now, stay small, you’ve done what you’re supposed to do.
Here is the danger because you’re loyal soldier only knows the version of you they first met, they have no idea who you are now and that’s why they hold you back.
At some point, you need to retire that loyal soldier, thank them for their service and for getting you as far as you have.
You need to appreciate that holding you back now is their only task, thank them and let them go.
