It was a pleasure to welcome this fantastic group to the station recently 🚒

We would like to thank them for taking the time to come along and learn more about the role of in our community. We really hope you enjoyed exploring the station, the fire engine and meeting some of the crew.
Community engagement is an important part of what we do, and it is always rewarding to share a little insight into our role in the community.

🚒 Hanging Up the Boots 🚒

This week, we said farewell to one of our firefighters as Myles responded to his final call and hung up his pager and fire boots for the last time (with a short Standby trip to North Anderson Drive).

Over the past 2 years, 9 months and 16 days, Myles has been a valued member of our station, giving his time, commitment and dedication to serving the community. Whether attending emergencies, taking part in training, or supporting station activities, his contribution has been greatly appreciated by all.

Whilst we're sad to see him leave, we're excited to see what the future holds as he moves on to pastures new. We hope the skills, experiences and friendships gained during his time with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will serve him well in whatever challenges and opportunities lie ahead.

On behalf of everyone at the station, thank you for your service, hard work and commitment.

So August results are in, how many times was your community station mobilised during August?

🚨 38 turnouts in total 🚨

August started much the same way that July finished, with our crews responding to a steady flow of incidents across the area. Thankfully, as the month progressed, things became a little quieter, providing some welcome breathing space for our firefighters whilst still maintaining our readiness to respond whenever needed.

These incidents included:
🔔 9 Automatic Fire Alarms (AFAs)
🚒 9 Standby calls
🔥 7 Fires in the Open
🏢 6 Building Fires
🏙️ 4 Multi-storey Building incidents
🚗 1 Road Traffic Collision (RTC)
🚙🔥 1 Car Fire
🔑 1 Gain Entry

Whilst emergency response remains at the heart of what we do, our personnel have continued to support the community through training, prevention work, community engagement activities and maintaining the skills needed to respond effectively when the call comes.
The variety of incidents attended during August highlights the broad range of emergencies firefighters deal with, from assisting vulnerable members of the public to responding to fires and alarms across our community.

Thank you for your continued support of your local firefighters. We hope these monthly updates provide a useful insight into the work being carried out by your on-call crews, both on and off the run.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our July turnout challenge and submitted a guess. It was great to see so many of you getting involved!

👏 Special mention to Grace Milne Mike Mackay who bang on the nose with their guesses!

So, how many times were our crews mobilised during July?

Whilst emergency response is a vital part of what we do, our crews have also been busy supporting the community through engagement events, education visits and community safety activities over the summer. Today we say farewell to a valued member of our station family as Crew Manager Ewen leaves the crew after 18 years of dedicated service.

Throughout his time with us, Stephen has shown commitment, professionalism, and teamwork both on and off the run, always willing to support colleagues and serve the community with pride. His contribution to the station and the wider community will not be forgotten.

On behalf of everyone at the station, we would like to thank Stephen for his hard work, loyalty, and friendship over the years. We wish him all the very best for the future and every success in the next chapter ahead.
