In short:
- 17 new projects
- £700m initial investments
- total capacity of 25GW

For context - 25GW is about ten times the electricity required to power all of Scotland's households. There are already approximately 2GW of Offshore Wind projects in Scottish waters and another 8.4GW in development.

These new projects will also accelerate the further development of the Hydrogen economy where Aberdeen is already widely recognised as a global leader.

BP, Shell and SSE Renewables have been selected among the ScotWind winners to build the next generation of Scottish offshore wind farms.

Great news from Suriname earlier today, as Apache and Total confirm a significant first discovery offshore in Block 58.
Coupled with the well documented reserves offshore Guyana this will only serve to increase the opportunities in the Guyana-Suriname Basin for the international supply chain, and for joint ventures with local companies.
AIA will be continuing our activity in the region this year to support the development of the industry via capacity building initiatives whilst also running a series of trade missions and events to help the International community access this exciting market.

Positive outlook for Myanmar as the economy is expected to continue growing consistently in the years ahead.
AIA is committed to the market and can help your company access opportunities in many different sectors - we plan to bring some International delegations to Myanmar in 2020, further details to be announced soon.

The Myanmar economy is projected to grow by 6.6 percent in 2020, according to the World Bank, a tad higher than its 6.5pc projection for this year.

A little look back at an amazing week in Aberdeen for Offshore Europe. Fantastic to be exhibiting with our Norwegian partners Storvik & Co whilst also supporting their delegates and the incoming groups from Brazil, Colombia and Mexico. Plenty catching up with our clients from many other markets too, the Chairman enjoyed moderating at the WECP Conference, and of course it was a pleasure to showcase some of our awesome Scottish sites and gastronomic delights!
