Important update for our customers regarding waste collections.

We want to clarify that we aren't a typical "man and van" service. We don't mix house moves with waste collection, and unlike others, we pay to dispose of everything we clear rather than just using council tips.

Please note that for full loads, we won't be cheaper than hiring a skip. Because we have to separate all waste by material type—like wood, rubble, and landfill—to weigh and dispose of it properly, it’s a time-intensive process just like at a professional waste yard.

We are a fully licensed and insured waste management company with eight years of experience. We provide all waste transfer notes, invoices, and video proof of disposal.

Disposal costs have soared recently; wood prices have quadrupled, and since two local sites in Fife stopped taking it, we’re forced to use a much more expensive facility with a 500kg minimum charge.

Our landfill minimum is 250kg, costing us £70 to £80, so small jobs aren't feasible anymore. Charging £60 for twenty bags doesn't even cover the disposal fees.

Items like sofas, mattresses, and upholstered chairs now cost £600 per tonne to dispose of locally, with a 100kg minimum. Even using a cheaper facility outside Fife still requires a 500kg minimum load and a long trip, making small pickups impossible for us to cover.

We’re considering stopping small collections altogether. Currently, we’re often keeping waste in the van for days just to gather enough to meet disposal minimums. We know we’re pricier than a basic man and van, and we understand that Fife Council offers free collections if you’re happy to wait.

The only way we could keep doing smaller jobs is to set specific collection days, but we aren't sure if that would work for you.

We aren’t saying we’re too big now and only want larger clearances, it’s just no longer feasible to do smaller collections unless we get multiple ones in the same area. We can’t justify traveling from Leven to Glenrothes for a £60 job and then on to Dunfermline for another £60 one, as the cost of wages and fuel makes it unfeasible.
