As you likely know, Merchant House at Law's Close was restored and is now managed by Scottish Historic Buildings Trust – and we have a new look! We’re really excited to tell you more about it.

We’re still the same organisation as we were before, striving to bring Scottish historic buildings back to life to become treasured and valued assets for the communities which they serve. We aim for all our projects to be financially and environmentally sustainable regardless of their end use.

We’re keen to showcase the best of what we do under our main banner, and because of that our page for Law's Close will be absorbed into our main SHBT page January 2022. We’ll still be sharing all of our updates in relation to Law's Close on the main channel, along with lots of other interesting information about the historic buildings we care for.

WE ARE RECRUITING

We are looking for a part-time member of staff to join the Home of Hopcroft team within our Kirkcaldy High Street store (Merchant House, Law's Close, Kirkcaldy) for some weekend shifts.

You will be required to work a total of 10 hours per week (split over Saturday & Sunday) with weekday additional hours regularly available also.

The role will be based in our retail store and duties will include amongst other things customer service, cash handling, stock replenishment, and maintaining the shop floor.

The post is initially on a 6-month temporary contract with extension options depending on success.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is friendly and positive with a good work ethic. They must be computer literate and have excellent customer service skills.
Previous retail experience and flexibility for additional hours would be preferred.
