Have you ever wondered how valuable metals like aluminium and copper are recovered during recycling?
At the Levenseat Container Materials Recycling Facility (CMRF), the eddy current separator plays a key role in this process.
This advanced system is designed to recover non-ferrous metals, materials that are not attracted to standard magnets. It works by generating a rapidly rotating magnetic field, which induces an electrical current in the metals and effectively separates them from the rest of the material stream.
The result is a clean and efficient recovery of valuable resources, which are then directed into a separate collection system for recycling.
It’s another example of how investment in modern technology helps improve recovery rates, reduce waste, and support a more circular economy.
