Peter and Shreya are FGH Champions! 🏆🏆

At the end of the race season we were proud to recognise Peter and Shreya for going above and beyond at Chester Racecourse.

Franklin Slater, Area Manager, shared:
"Peter is part of our lead team in Liverpool and is well known for leading Liverpool Football Club’s Fan Zone. This season, he took on the role of County Supervisor at Chester Racecourse.

With patience, professionalism, teamwork and a 100% attendance record, Peter has excelled in his role and received fantastic feedback throughout the season."

"Shreya has taken on a challenging position at Chester this year. She is a great example of an FGH team member who has grown in confidence, supported by her peers when needed.

Shell is an orange button ambassador! 🧡💪

🟠 The Orange Button Community Scheme is designed to increase visibility and accessibility of su***de prevention support in local communities.

People who are having thoughts of su***de or who are worried about a friend or family member can now push the button when they see someone wearing an orange badge and ask them for information and support.

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that support is always available and that no one has to face things alone.

Shell, Head of People, shared:
"I am incredibly proud to continue supporting the Orange Button Campaign and Month of Hope, including taking part in filming for BSI’s BS 30480 — Su***de and the workplace — Intervention, prevention and support for people affected by su***de — Guide.

As a senior leader at FGH, I believe our promise of Keeping People Safe includes creating space for honest conversations about mental health and wellbeing. Orange Button holders are trained to listen, support and signpost, rather than act as counsellors or crisis workers.

Together, the Orange Button Scheme and BS 30480 can help organisations reduce stigma, encourage early intervention and build cultures where people feel able to speak up, seek help and support one another.

By sharing this work, I hope to encourage more organisations to sign up to the pledge and turn their commitment to su***de prevention into practical action!"

We are proud to share Kieran has been promoted to Operations Manager. 🎉

Kieran became part of earlier this year when we were awarded a contract with CBRE, joining us in his existing role as Contract Manager.

His dedication and strong work ethic were quickly recognised by the wider team, and we’re delighted to support his continued development and progression within the organisation.

🤝 When asked what he has enjoyed most about his time at FGH, Kieran highlighted the communication and togetherness across the whole team, from the top to the bottom.

Last week, our teams from across the FGH Group got together for our inaugural Autumn Seminar and post-summer social! 🍂

⛰️ We kicked things off with an optional mountain climb (or three!), as some of the team took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.

This was a chance to get outdoors, spend time together and focus on team building and wellbeing, with some team members also raising money for charities close to them.

🧩 The following day, we asked our teams to come with curiosity, humility and accountability and to get involved in everything the day had to offer.

🧡 Michelle and Jessica took us through a people-focused session, exploring how we represent ourselves as leaders, managers and supervisors, and the impact we can have on those around us.

💡 Dave Taylor delivered an interactive session on counter-terrorism risk management, bringing together the expertise and services available across the Group.

🕵️‍♀️ And then things took a turn... Claudia (Oz in a wig) and Beth, our very own Game Master, immersed us in a game of The Traitors, complete with hilarious team challenges, questionable alliances and some ulimate betrayals!

Chester Racecourse Season Finale! 🎉

We recently marked the end of another incredible season at Chester Racecourse, with our team proud to be there from start to finish.

🏇 The finale brought a day of thrilling racing and, unbelievably, great weather, with racegoers also enjoying a live performance from Massaoke, bringing the sing-along classics throughout the evening.

As the season came to a close, Chester Racecourse also celebrated the delivery partners who have gone the extra furlong this season, with two of our team picking up awards:

🏆 Guardian of the Gallops: Our Area Manager, Franklin Slater, was thrilled to be named Guardian of the Gallops for the second season in a row!

🌟 Outstanding Member of the Team: John Paffvett was one of several team members recognised across Chester Racecourse’s values, with John highlighted for demonstrating their Collaborative value throughout the season.

A huge well done to Frank, John and the wider raceday team for all their hard work throughout another fantastic season! 🧡👏
