Weapons Awareness, Knife Crime & Recognition with Searching Skills Training Workshops.
With run, hide, tell, fight CTA if required.
Over recent years people have found increasingly creative ways of infiltrating threatening or prohibited items into schools, pubs, clubs, events, on board aircraft and through other security check points.
Weapons of all kinds: commercially manufactured, improvised, adapted and disguised, metallic and non-metallic as well as explosive materials and improvised explosive devices have all defeated security screening.
Why? Simple - lack of weapons recognition awareness training.
The current reliance on metal detection technology means that it still remains the responsibility of the screener to identify potentially threatening items.
Unfortunately, if you don't know what the weapons you're searching for look like or can be made from, you won't find them!
Also security operatives may also become complacent by repetitiveness, It's imperative that nominated persons, teachers or security personnel are trained to look more closely at innocuous objects should there be any suspicion on their part.
Who should attend? This bespoke course is aimed at any frontline operational staff who maybe at potential!! risk based on a risk assessment from the employer.
What does the programme cover?
This bespoke couple of hours upto a one day or more if on specialist tasks programme covers and gives examples of what can be:
· Edged weapons
· Handling weapons and terminology
· Striking weapons
· Projectile weapons
· Disguised weapons Knife Crime Awareness CTA
The aim of the training is to give staff and security personnel a more in-depth awareness, knowledge and understanding of disguised, improvised and clandestine weapons, and the methods in which weapons can be concealed and carried on the person, or concealed within an environment, with urban camouflage to look the norm.
The law defines a weapon as any article made, adapted or intended to cause injury to or incapacitate a person, to destroy or damage property, or intended by the person having it with them for such use, whether by them or any other person.
By the end of the session, delegates will understand how crucial it is to fully understand this definition and to 'think differently' about weapons and the dangers posed by them.
What are the benefits of this programme?
Employees will benefit from increased knowledge and awareness of weapons recognition and this will assist and help increase their awareness of potential weapon-related attacks.
