The Durham Genome Centre in Lanchester is leading an International GLP-1 Research Study. Right here on your doorstep!

We have joined forces with partners in Japan, Portugal and Scotland to launch an innovative new study investigating whether Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) supplementation can benefit people using GLP-1 weight management medications.

The study will recruit participants currently prescribed a GLP-1 medication and aims to generate valuable real-world evidence on the potential role of CoQ10 in supporting wellbeing during weight loss. Researchers will examine whether CoQ10 may help support energy levels, metabolic health and overall wellbeing in individuals using GLP-1 therapies.

A local research study is now recruiting adults aged 30-65 who have recently started, or are about to start, a GLP-1 weight management medication.

✅ Receive 9 months of free dietitian-led support
✅ Monthly support via Zoom or email
✅ Easy-to-use app to track food and exercise
✅ Daily supplement (or placebo) provided for 9 months
✅ The supplement is CoQ10 and we are looking to see if we can help people using weight loss treatments with muscle fatigue

Participants will attend 4 in-person visits during the study.
