Avanti Virtual Assistance Hi, I’m Joanne, Business Support Specialist with over 17 years’ experience in administration, operations, team management, and customer service.

For the past 3 years, I’ve worked closely with Dr Tim Pearce, one of the UK’s leading aesthetics educators, managing operations, onboarding, recruitment, SOPs, client experience, and complaints

handling. A big part of my role was managing payment disputes through Stripe, where I:

Gathered evidence and built counterclaims

Communicated directly with customers to resolve disputes before escalation

Collaborated with tech teams to create SOPs and plugins that proved legitimate purchases (e.g. subscriptions, memberships, payment plans)

Implemented preventative measures such as evidencing terms of sale acceptance and using Apple Pay fingerprint verification

Developed strategies that successfully reduced dispute volumes and loss rates

While my hands-on expertise is with Stripe, the same principles apply across platforms such as PayPal, Klarna, GoCardless, Square, and Shopify Payments – and I’m quick to adapt my skills to suit different systems. Today, I help small businesses and professionals who need reliable support with:
