Mother Nature is just amazing!

“When pregnant, the cells of the baby migrate into the mothers bloodstream and then circle back into the baby, it’s called “fetal-maternal microchimerism”.

For 41 weeks, the cells circulate and merge backwards and forwards, and after the baby is born, many of these cells stay in the mother’s body, leaving a permanent imprint in the mothers tissues, bones, brain, and skin, and often stay there for decades. Every single child a mother has afterwards will leave a similar imprint on her body, too.

Even if a pregnancy doesn't go to full term or if you have an abortion, these cells still migrate into your bloodstream.

Research has shown that if a mother's heart is injured, fetal cells will rush to the site of the injury and change into different types of cells that specialize in mending the heart.

The baby helps repair the mother, while the mother builds the baby.

How cool is that?

This is often why certain illnesses vanish while pregnant.

It’s incredible how mothers bodies protect the baby at all costs, and the baby protects & rebuilds the mother back - so that the baby can develop safely and survive.

Think about crazy cravings for a moment. What was the mother deficient in that the baby made them crave?

Studies have also shown cells from a fetus in a mothers brain 18 years after she gave birth. How amazing is that?”

If you’re a mom you know how you can intuitively feel your child even when they are not there….Well, now there is scientific proof that moms carry them for years and years even after they have given birth to them.

I find this to be so very beautiful.

We are, after all, just Great Apes! Do what Mother nature intended!

We are, after all, just Great Apes! Do what Mother nature intended!

These are the same newborns we’ve had since the beginning of time. They have the same instincts they’ve had since the beginning of time. They have the same wants and needs they’ve had since the beginning of time.

Holding your baby after birth isn’t a new method. Feeding your baby on demand isn’t a new method. Responding to your crying baby isn’t a new method. Co-sleeping with your baby (gasp) isn’t a new method. Why are we so commonly throwing out the mechanisms we were born to do?

Your baby isn’t broken, they were born to signal for you. Your baby isn’t broken, they were born for the need of human contact. Your baby isn’t broken, they were born to desire to be at the breast and feed often. So how can we be wrong for helping our babies do what they were born to do?

The answer is we aren’t.

You see, we don’t have a baby problem, we have a society problem. A society that expects biological, instinctual baby behavior to change just because the culture has. A society that not only frowns at a mother for answering her baby’s normal biological needs, often discourages it. A society that does very little to support mothers and babies but does a whole lot to make them feel like they’re broken.

Your baby isn’t broken, and neither are you. Your baby needs you, you want to respond, and that’s the way it’s always been.

I think this quote by J. Milburn sums it up “How broken is a society where a mother is told she has anxiety because she doesn’t want to be away from her child for too long? Wanting to be close to your child is as natural and instinctual as it gets. It’s not a medical condition; it’s called attachment and it’s incredibly healthy and fulfilling for both mother and child.”

Babywearing is for EVERYONE!!!

Louder for those in the back!!!

Your baby’s desire to be close to you and to be held is absolutely and utterly normal.

Your baby is not clingy or needy or manipulative. Your baby does not need teaching a lesson. Your baby is wonderful and brilliant and developing just as nature expects... slowly, by being loved and nurtured, at their own pace. And close to you!!

This intense desire to be next to you does pass. Enjoy all those contact naps, those sling cuddles, you’re building a happy brain and a confident child. Don’t let anyone put you off!

Sometimes we all need a good cry!

Sometimes we all need a good cry!

Remarkable, positive changes in a child's behavior can follow a long, deep cry about a toy that broke, or getting the "wrong" colored plate.
Hang on tight, this is how children shed their fearful, anxious feelings 😊

How amazing is this!?!
