Weekly recap time!

This week has been full of adventure and we’re so excited to tell you all about it!

Two of our lovely support staff have been away this week taking one of our clients on holiday, they had the best time and we can’t thank them enough for the support and happiness they provided to him ! 😊

Our advocates have been all over the midlands this week from Leicester to Loughborough to Melton and beyond! They’ve provided various support in a variety of meetings, being the voice for families who are struggling 💜

Our pet therapy team has been busy spreading joy and cuddles to care homes all around Warwickshire! 🐶

The rest of our support team have been very busy this week, making delicious home made meals to help take away some of that bitter cold that been creeping in this autumn!🍂 Maintaining our clients household keeping them clean and tidy so they can be comfortable in their own homes amongst many other things 🩷

Our mental capacity assessor has also been providing crucial capacity assessments to people all over the country, providing the client and their families peace of mind, something they appreciate greatly! ☺️

We’ve had a very wholesome and productive week here at Appoint us and we’re excited to see what we get up to next week!

With the weather going back to its usual dreary ways, what could possibly beat a nice warm cup of tea and home cooked meal ??

If you asked our clients, their answer would be that absolutely nothing!! ☕️🥘

One of our favourite things to see is families being able to enjoy each other’s company!

Our company helps remove the stress that keeps families from spending quality time together. Whether that be our support team taking away the burden of housework or doctors appointment to our advocates giving struggling parents a voice during hard times…

Our team is there to make sure families are together for the moments that truly matter 😊

This past weekend two members of our brilliant support team took one of clients on holiday to Skegness something he really wanted to do and was really looking forward to!☀️

They had amazing few days away! After a great road trip to their destination the fun began with a cooked breakfast at a local cafe 🍳 they continued on their adventure and visited Jabberwock bookshop, a place that our client was so excited to visit and he had the very best time there! 📖

They enjoyed coffee and cakes with a beautiful seaside view, they had great laughs and made incredible memories!

On the evening they had a meal at an Indian restaurant and the next day enjoyed a classic Sunday roast! From what we’ve been told the food was delicious and they ate as much as they possibly could! 🥘🍽️

After a busy but relaxing weekend away they all returned back home safely with huge smiles on all their faces! 😊

We cannot thank you Di and Sharon enough for giving one of clients the opportunity to go on holiday, be greatly supported and have the best time! Thank you ladies 💛

We are recruiting Support Workers to join our expanding support team! 💛
This is a job that involves flexible working, and although a bank kind of role initially, could lead to more if required. We provide support to vulnerable adults (no personal care). This could involve companionship, support around mealtimes, social reintegration, shopping etc. We cover Coventry and Warwickshire so driving is essential.
The role involves consistent responsibilities in a structured caring environment and would suit someone who values reliability, professionalism and a long term contribution .
We welcome candidates of all ages and backgrounds including retired people looking to give a bit back
We are a community interest company who’s ethos is to make a difference! 💛
This is a paid role and includes paid travel time and a mileage allowance.

What one of our support visit looks like:

Arrived at the clients to find the lounge floor covered in broken glass - cleared it all up.
Prepared and cooked braised beef carrots and mashed potatoes and cup of tea and stayed in room to be company for the client and make sure they ate it. 🥘
Whilst doing that I prepared her a tea plate - corned beef sandwich 🥪 savoury snacks and trifle and a sweet snack plate for the afternoon 🍬
Made another cup of tea ☕️ and blackcurrant drink for both rooms. She wanted a trifle for pudding !
Cleaned and tidied the house stripped and made the bed in the main bedroom but noticed client had also been sleeping in downstairs room so did that bed too 🛏️
Washed and dried up 🍽️
Made more tea. Prepared a shopping list for family to do the shopping 🛒
Left client with third cup of tea , blackcurrant , snack plate and the newspaper 🗞️ .
Put film on 📺

Welcome back to the weekly recap!

We’ve had a great week here at appoint us and we have not let the cold weather get in our way! 🍁

Our team and clients have enjoyed going out for hearty meals and warm cups of tea to help with the transition to autumn!

Our team has also been busy preparing delicious meals for our clients at home with lots of vegetables and gravy, what could be better ?!

Our advocates have been as busy as always, spending most this week in Leicester supporting parents and families through difficult meetings to help them regain their family bond! 🩷

We can’t wait to see what we get up to next week!

💜 WE ARE SO EXCITED TO SHARE THIS NEWS!!

From the very beginning of Violet Project in 2022, we had a vision…. Create a holistic Su***de Prevention and Bereavement Hub, bringing immediate crisis support, compassionate understanding, bereavement care and long-term recovery together under one roof.

That vision is finally becoming a reality!

💜 We are incredibly proud to announce the development of Coventry's first dedicated Su***de Prevention & Bereavement Hub, at the former Coundon Library on Moseley Avenue.

Through years of supporting people affected by su***de, we have learnt that su***de prevention cannot stop when the immediate crisis ends.

For someone in crisis, being asked to choose life forever can feel impossible. Sometimes we need to make that decision smaller:

Can we help you stay safe for now?

Then we have time to listen, develop a safety plan together, understand what has brought someone to crisis and help them begin to rebuild.

Our Hub will bring together:
💜 One-to-one su***de intervention and safety planning
💜 Peer programmes building resilience, coping skills and life skills
💜 Low-cost su***de and self-harm specific counselling
💜 Su***de bereavement groups, counselling and one-to-one support
💜 Wellbeing, recovery and community support.

🏠 The renovations are already underway, creating counselling rooms, private support spaces, group areas and a welcoming community space.

Our aim is to have a soft launch opening nearer Christmas.

*But to make this Hub everything our community needs it to be, we need you behind our registered Charity*

💜 Donate. Fundraise. Volunteer. Partner with us. Share our story.

We have the building. We have the experience and qualifications . We are growing the team (volunteers welcome). Now we need our community to help us build what comes next.

This Hub is for every person struggling, every family needing support, every family affected by su***de loss, and for every loved one we have lost.

When Violet Project began, this was the dream.Now we have the keys. 🔑💜

Help us turn them into a place of prevention, intervention, recovery, bereavement support and HOPE.
