While nannies hold a special place in your household dynamic and are often seen more as part of the family than an employee it is important that you ensure that you are offering them all of the benefits of an employed role that they are entitled to.

It can be a common misconception that nannies (especially those who work part time or part year) are not entitled to paid holiday in the same way that other employees are.

In fact, nannies are entitled to at least 5.6 weeks of paid holiday per annum, or pay totalling 12.07% of their total worked hours for the year if they only work part of the year (for example, if they are ‘term time only’).
