It has been fascinating to learn about airports and plane travel this week. This morning, we role-played taking a flight. We made our own passports earlier in the week and presented them for stamping at passport control. Once we were on the flight, we listened to a safety demonstration and enjoyed an in-flight snack and entertainment.

Big thanks to the team from Halo Leisure who came to visit us today to teach us all about water safety. Now we know how to stay safe at the beach, in the paddling pool and in the bath. We learned that the most important thing to remember is to keep a trusted adult close by whenever we are in or near water. Watch out for free swimming lesson vouchers coming home with children today too.

We spent several weeks before half-term learning about plants and what they need to grow. It was great to be able to use our skills to help our community today when we visited our local church to plant flowers in their containers. We had a very warm welcome from the team at the church and enjoyed some time playing in their children’s area before we left.

We have been learning a little about people’s jobs as part of our Festival of Early Reading this week. This afternoon, Mrs Fletcher came to tell us about being a beekeeper. She let us try some of her bees’ honey and told us how she stays safe around the bees so she can take care of them. She even brought some child sized beekeeper suits for us to try on. Mrs Fletcher read us a story all about bees.
