O-License Holders!

Are you aware that maintenance provider are NOT regulated by the Traffic Commissioners and/or DVSA as you are?

Are you aware that the holder of the O-License bears all responsibility of any work undertaken by maintenance service agents, including garages, tyre fitters, repair agents and brake testing?

It pays to have robust policies and procedures in place to act as an aide memoir to oversee how your maintenance providers perform.

'Self-employed' drivers or those looking to circumvent IR35 using a limited company are coming under increased scrutiny from the Traffic Commissioner.
Why?
Principally because tax and NI not deducted at source gives the operator using these drivers an unfair financial advantage in the market, and the TC will regulate this on behalf of HMRC.

Operator licence applications.....are still causing issues for new applicants who are a little unsure of the process and what to have in place, consequently getting unstuck half way through!

I have completed the process dozens of times, and in the last 3 months no less than 4 applications which have all been granted in 6 weeks or less.

A trip to Wales this week to deliver a compliance audit for a haulage firm in need of help following a DVSA maintenance investigation.
