When switching to EV you dont need to worry about the ‘so called’ range anxiety as your Home + Workplace are your electric fuel stations! 70% of charging will take place at home, utilising cheap electricity overnight and 30% will take place at Work. Attitudes towards the new ‘filling up’ are already changing and much like we do with our mobile phones we will do with our cars. In a nutshell, we will top-up whenever we have the opportunity. Electric charging vs fossil fuel will also save the average person £1000 a year in running costs alone with companies saving tens of thousands on fuel outlay for company drivers.

The 1 million dollar question right now, lets break it down....Hybrid is basically a mix of fossil fuel + electric power engine. Your vehicle running on electric for parts of the journey but heavily relying on diesel or petrol for the remainder on longer journeys. Plus points: no need to worry about range (how many miles you can travel) because a fuel station is always near by. There are more SUV type plug-in Hybrids available than fully electric (2021 will be a big year for SUV style fully electric)
Downsides: you are still not benefitting from the many tax savings of a full electric vehicle (especially if you are a company car or opt-out scheme driver). You are losing out on the fuel savings of pure EV. The environment is still being polluted by fossil fuel. Not as quiet or smooth as pure EV. You will still be liable for congestion charges as Cities gear up for clean air zones...trust us, councils are onto it! Conclusion: If you really need more mileage than your daily commute/long mileage job then plug-in hybrid wins. If you can charge at home or even top up at work then fully electric is the way to go!

Don’t make the grave mistake of charging an EV with a 3 pin socket & extension cable! A 7.4kw wallbox dedicated charger is the only way to go: safer, quicker and more convenient

Yes is the ‘simple’ answer...if you have the patience of a Saint and 2 spare days on your hands! (Besides real safety concerns too). In reality we all have day jobs to go to therefor in a nutshell a 7.4kw dedicated wall charger is the way to go. Less is more doesnt apply in this scenario...more = faster = convenience

Campus & education, going green:
Manchester, Bath, Nottingham...to name a few have electric charging points and dedicated bays for staff, visitors and others. Some running low cost Kangoo catering & maintenance vans to provide 80 miles of running around campus at only 3p per mile! Some running an EV parking permit scheme with yearly charging included & some running PAYG smart app schemes.

Promoting the uptake of EV on campus = reduced exhaust emissions, resulting in cleaner air locally. Also contributing to a tranquil atmosphere on campus.
