Taking on Manhattan for The Openwork Foundation 🏊‍♀️

On 13 September 2026, Rose Hawkins from Pebblerose Wealth will take on the incredible 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan, New York, to raise vital funds for The Openwork Foundation.

The challenge is a gruelling 28.5-mile open water swim around Manhattan Island, traditionally completed counter-clockwise via the East River, Harlem River and Hudson River. It is one of the world's most prestigious open water swimming events and forms part of the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming, alongside the English Channel and the Catalina Channel.

Having successfully crossed the English Channel in 2017, Rose is now setting her sights on Manhattan, with ambitions to complete the Catalina Channel in the future and achieve the Triple Crown.

“I've always loved swimming, and this challenge felt like the perfect next step while raising awareness of the incredible work The Openwork Foundation does. I love that the Foundation gives smaller charities a voice and access to grants and support from a wider community.”

Meet James Mercer, Owner and Financial Adviser at Silverwood Financial Solutions Ltd, now in his 14th year with 2plan.

James started his career with a product-led focus on protection and investments, evolving into a more holistic financial planning approach that considers the full client picture, from cashflow and retirement to tax, family and legacy planning.
