Great turnout for our networking and co-working today at The Milner York.
Good mix of new and familiar faces, which we love. It's always a pleasure to introduce people we know to each other and watch the relationships develop and common interests be discovered.

It was the first of our co-working sessions following the networking and several people took the opportunity to stay in the comfort of The Snug.

We're back in York on 18th June, with another Connect and Co-Working day but we're in Wetherby and Wakefield next week, making more great connections.

I've mentioned to a few people that we had changed our venue in Harrogate, and, guess what? They didn't know!

So, I thought it was worth telling you about it again, just in case you didn't know either. 😆

We said a fond farewell to the North Bar and a big hello to Wizu Workspace in Harrogate. We're looking forward to hosting our first Connect and Co-Work day there tomorrow, Thursday 14th May. 9.30-11am for networking followed by co-working for as long as you want to stay. With free WiFi, tea, and coffee on tap, it felt like the right move for the next stage of our journey.

It also means that all of our venues are now fully accessible. It bothered me that one of them wasn't, as I know how difficult it can be if your mobility is restricted.

So, come along and check out our new gaff, I think you'll be impressed.

So, I thought I'd give you a heads-up on our events for the coming month.
We don't want you to miss out on any potential opportunities because, as they say, 'you've got to be in it to win it.'

You don't know what opportunities are in store for you at a networking event, but if you don't go, it's a sure-fire thing that there's none!

Do you know your Padel from your Pickle?

Because… apparently I didn’t.

In my excitement to promote our upcoming Padel Networking event, on Wednesday 13th May, I used an image of pickleball instead. Huge thanks to the eagle-eyed legend who spotted it, Stuart Lloyd.

But let’s be honest, whether it’s Padel, Pickleball, or competitive coffee drinking, the real goal here is simple. A get-together with great people, have good conversations, and maybe hit a few wild shots.

So, now that we’ve clarified the sport…

👉 It is padel🎾

👉 There will not be pickles 🥒 (unless someone brings snacks, no judgment)

👉 There will be networking, laughter, and a chance to prove your racket skills are as strong as your networking game.

Spots are filling up fast, so don't delay, come for the connections, stay for the questionable athleticism on our part.

We were recently asked ‘What’s the difference between your 5 venues?’

Although our core philosophy for We Are In Business is the same everywhere: relaxed relationship-based networking without forced pitches or referrals, each location has a different vibe, feel and now format. This is since the addition of co-working in Leeds, Wakefield, York and Harrogate.

Clockwise in is our central hub, in a city centre location. It attracts a mixture of freelancers, startups, and established business owners. A place where members and visitors don’t just network but can stay and co-work alongside each other, turning connections into collaborations.

The Milner in acts as a regional connector, bringing together businesses from across North and West Yorkshire who might not normally meet. Making it a great place to connect with people outside your immediate area. It attracts a wide range of industries and is perfect if you want to expand your network across the region. And if you've travelled, why not stay for the day to Co-work?

Wizu Workspace in offers a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where conversations naturally go deeper. It’s a great place to build genuine relationships with other business owners and become part of a supportive local community. With co-working available after the event, members can stay longer, continue conversations, and get on with their work alongside other professionals.

HR180 in and Create Cafe in are smaller events, it’s a relaxed and informal networking environment with a strong community feel. They are perfect if you prefer a more informal setting where you can get to know other local business owners over time.

It uses perforated paddles and a slightly smaller, lighter ball, with rules allowing shots to be played off the walls, emphasizing strategy over brute strength.
