Note just in from the lovely Alysia at Yorkshire Foragers ...

We found these little beauties yesterday at one of our well known foraging spots:

Lovely orange and brown birch boletes buttons, rock hard will keep for ages and ages, taste fantastic, same family as ceps, a lovely firm texture and good mushroomy depth of flavour. Very sought after, available from now till end of November depending on weather!

£30.00 per kg for buttons both colours, and £20.00 per kg for Orange birch boletes above 3.5"

Foraging News: The mushrooms are coming early in some parts of the country, my foraging friends are already finding ceps and birch boletus as far as Derbyshire, we should be finding Autumn mushroom varieties any day now, the hunt is on! Please express interest early as these fly out when in.
Now that summer has truly descended the sea herbs are at their best, still tasty and perfect accompaniments for fish, salads and whatever you culinary wizards can come up with,
