It is with great sadness that today we pull our shutters down for the final time.

On September the 3rd 1990 our journey began and 33 years later it is over. There have been ups and downs, good times and hard times but throughout it all we've tried our best to put our customers first and offer the best service possible.

The amount of people who have told us there aren't any shops around like us anymore has been heartening and we've stayed strong to our independent principles and always done a good job for a fair price. Unfortunately those principles just can't compete in this modern economy.

We've made so many friends over the years even going back right to the start and we'll miss you all. Thank you to everyone who has used us over the years and for all your kind comments about our company. We've always strived to our best and we know it was appreciated by so many.

Hope you are all well and coping with the heat. Just a note to say if temperatures do become unsafe to work in, we will be closing the shop early so please do call ahead today and especially tomorrow just to check we are still open before you call down. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Happy New Year!

Hope all our customers had a great Christmas and are having a good start to 2022.

Just a small note that we are no longer open Saturdays for the foreseeable future, hopefully this won't inconvenience too many people and they will be as able to make it into us through the week.

I will be updating our hours on Google but unfortunately someone else has 'claimed' our pin on Google Maps so am just in the process of reclaiming it.

Thanks to everyone that used our services in 2021, from the one key cut to the full house lock upgrades we appreciate every single customer that chooses us. And we'll be here in 2022 with the same professional service as always.

We're going home, we're going home, we're going...

Football may (or may not) be coming home, but the staff at Access are definitely going home 30 minutes earlier so we can all see the start of the England game. So the shop will close today at 4.30pm, back open tomorrow at 7.45am fresh off an England victory.

Hopefully.

With a bit of luck come 4.30 you'll all be sat outside a pub in the sunshine with a nice cold beverage anyway. 14 goals in the games yesterday so more of the same to enjoy today please.

Now I just hope I haven't jinxed it...

It's been a challenging year thus far to say the least, but there's a bit of positive news in that today marks 30 years of Access Locksmiths!

30 years ago Martin and Justine were just setting off on the journey, not sure what the future held especially in those early days. And ironically enough as we remained open through lockdown they found themselves in the same situation.

But just like in those early days they've worked hard and been there for the people that need them and we're now back up to a full compliment of staff cutting keys, changing locks and keeping your homes safe.

We had hoped for a big celebration with lots of cake, but obviously that's not possible at the minute. (Although if there has been cake someone please save me a slice I'm in Filey at the minute)

We're proud to be a family run, local independent business and have made it this long in an era of multinationals and online shopping, but couldn't have made it this long without our loyal customers. We pride ourselves on offering honest advice, and trying to go that extra mile for all our customers no matter the size of the job. We're very rarely beaten by a lock or a key, and if we are you know we've put our best into finding a solution and gone down every available avenue.

So if you've had one key in the shop, or had your whole house secured by us... thank you. Thanks for helping us keep you safe for the past 30 years, and fingers crossed we'll be here in another 30.

Morning all, hope you are all staying safe and well.

A quick update from us here at Access. The shop has remained open throughout the lockdown on limited hours for emergencies and hope this has proved helpful for those who have needed us.

We now have a locksmith back on the road, with PPE equipment for yours and our safety, and the shop is open longer hours as we try and head back towards a full service. Social distancing guidelines must be followed in the shop, and surfaces are cleaned regularly.

So if you need keys cutting, or that faulty back door looking at we're here for you as we have been for the past 30 years. If you are shielding and don't want to leave the house, give us a call and we're happy to advise you over the phone.

You keep yourself safe, we'll keep your home safe.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and a Happy New Year from all of us at Access!

The Christmas dinners and chocolates seem so long ago now don't they? We're back cutting keys and securing your homes though just as we have been for the past 28 years.

Last year we cut a staggering 19,460 keys, so this year let's aim for over 20,000! It's a good job we love cutting keys here at Access!

Thanks to all our customers for a very successful 2018; thanks for choosing us to secure your homes, cut your keys, upgrade your locks and even open your suitcases we're just grateful you chose us and recommended us last year. We truly appreciate it, and hope you have a fantastic (and safe) 2019.

Is it really just 4 days until Christmas?!

We're still here for all your lock and key needs, whether it's cutting a spare key for the mother in law or upgrading your locks to keep those presents under the tree nice and safe. Our Christmas opening hours are as follows

Saturday 22nd : 9.00 - 13.00
Sunday 23rd : Closed
Christmas Eve : 7.45 - 13.00
Christmas Day : Closed
Boxing Day : Closed
Thursday 27th : 7.45 - 13.00
Friday 28th : 7.45 - 13.00
Saturday 29th : 9.00 - 12.00
New Years Eve : 7.45 - 13.00
New Years Day : Closed
January 2nd : 7.45 - 17.00

And that will see us into 2019!

We hope Santa brings you everything you asked for (can he grant a full nights sleep to a new baby?!) and you have an amazing Christmas holidays with your loved ones. You focus on the good times and merriment, and we'll be here to help you if you need us.
