I love this quote because it’s a true test of character - doing the right thing even when no one’s watching. Integrity is a core value I hold myself to daily, in both personal and business life. At C2Compliance, integrity means doing what’s right, even in the smallest moments that might go unseen. It’s who we are, even behind the scenes.

For our clients, integrity is about trust, doing the right thing because it’s right, not because someone’s watching. Compliance efforts often go unseen - until something goes wrong, or maybe nothing goes wrong so it feels like a waste of time as no one has ever asked you for those policies, procedures or training records! But integrity is doing it anyway because it matters, to you and your customers.

A recent Which? investigation revealed how easy it is to list unsafe, recalled products on platforms like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and TikTok Shop. These products pose serious risks to consumers ⚠️.

The product they listed was a plug in heater that had already been reported as unsafe on the UK's Product Safety Database, as it posed a serious risk of electric shock. Secondary ticketing is not something we get asked about a lot but it is included in the module I deliver on the professional qualification for trading standards officers so I thought today's chaos was an ideal opportunity to share some of that knowledge with you.

Over the next few months we'll be sharing a lot more about trading standards and consumer law, how it affects us all as consumers and how it applies to those of you that have a business. There are so many different areas of our lives and business that these rules affect we usually don't know where to start with social media (as you can probably tell!) but now we have, I've enlisted the help of my son (who casually said he has 19K followers on TikTok earlier) to do the stuff that is beyond me!
