Our journey began out of a desire to create great tasting ice cream that is natural and free from artificial ingredients. The Northern cities have always been a melting pot of innovation and straight talking pioneers. This legacy inspires us, as we continue to be forward thinking, creating new flavours, techniques and experiences. Ice cream is a science – don’t underestimate the skill involved in production! It requires great people and a great passion. Our chef (like his father and grandfather before him) is an ice cream master who is relentless in the pursuit of perfection. Northern Bl°c is evolutionary in the way we make ice cream. We pay homage to the traditional flavours whilst adding a modernising twist, but always staying true to the principle of using only the best natural ingredients. Nothing artificial. Yes, we had an ice cream treat topping station for dogs at ’s Pure Fest. Yes, it was as good as it sounds. 🐾

The dogs got a treat topping bar. Their humans got the full NB°C range. Complete with talks from the Yorkshire vet and plenty of good food - everyone left full, with a new favourite flavour.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get the perfect shot. 🍨

Shooting ice cream means it’s a race against time before it melts under the studio lights. Many studios use cheats like mashed potato and clever editing, but we never want to fake it, so our food stylist and copious tubs of ice cream mean we get the perfect, real shot, each time.

Some of our tips include pre-scooping, skimming and if a scoop won’t sit still, a sneaky bit of Blu Tack does the trick so we don’t miss the shot before it melts. Swipe through for our styling secrets.

Step back inside our factory, for the final stop on the tour, the packing hall.

Here the ice cream is put into trays and moved into our storage freezer, before being packed into boxes ready for shipping. From there it goes back into the freezer, waiting to be collected and sent out to you.
