I’m sharing something I’ve never spoken about openly as the founder of Social Success Circle, until now.
This year, I had the privilege of hearing not one, but two powerful talks from transgender speakers.
The first time, it was through a podcast. I listened to a trans person share their story, their lived experience, their challenges, their truth. It opened my eyes in a way I didn’t expect. It was heartbreaking, moving, human. I found myself tearing up as I realised how much I had never been exposed to before.
A month or two later, I attended an event… and to my absolute surprise, the SAME speaker stepped onto the stage. Hearing their story again, in person this time, reached me all over again. It helped me learn. It helped me understand. It helped me grow.
And that moment reminded me why Social Success Circle was created in the first place, because I’ve always been open to possibilities, open to people, and open to the truth that everyone deserves to be seen.
Later that same day, another speaker took the stage. Their talk wasn’t about being transgender, it was about identity.
And that message hit me harder than I ever expected. Because the truth is...We all struggle with identity!
Whether it’s gender identity, sexuality, skin colour, our roles, our upbringing, or who we believe we’re “supposed” to be… identity is a universal human experience.
And at the end of the day, none of those labels change the core truth... We are all human beings.
And THAT is what fuels the mission behind Social Success Circle.
I want us to come together to do better, be better, and create meaningful change, so the future is safer, kinder, and more inclusive for everyone.
So I want to end with a huge thank you to the two speakers who impacted me more than they’ll ever know at The Big Festoon this year: .arloharris and .
Your voices, your stories, and your courage deeply moved me and have strengthened the fire behind my mission even more.
I’d love to open this space up gently and respectfully 👇
What’s one thing you’ve learned recently that expanded your understanding of someone else’s lived experience?
Your reflections help us all grow together.
