Christmas is officially last year, and the “Happy New Year” window is closing fast.

So this week, we decided to bring a little fun to the table and show off our office Christmas presents.

2026 has only just begun and many L&D teams are being asked to deliver more impact without a corresponding increase in spend.

Recent industry research shows most teams are operating with flat or tightening budgets, with around 61% seeing investment stay the same or decrease, and only a small minority expecting meaningful growth.

At the same time, expectations on L&D continue to expand. Learning teams are being asked to support leadership development, close skills gaps, improve retention, and align learning more closely with business outcomes, all without additional resources.

This “do more with less” reality is shaping how L&D prioritises content, measures impact, and demonstrates value.
