For over 30 years, civic life in Leicester and Leicestershire was a huge part of my world before I started my own consultancy Alexandra K Ltd, The Business Fixer 14 years ago.

Alongside a fantastic team that I was proud to lead, we organised countless civic events, managed dignitaries’ diaries, arranged Royal visits and worked closely with local authorities, community leaders and businesses across the county. It was a role that gave me the opportunity to meet some incredible people and be involved in many memorable occasions.

Last night I stepped back into that world as I joined local community leaders, dignitaries and friends to celebrate an incredible milestone of 30 years of Mirch Masala.

It was wonderful to catch up with so many former colleagues and familiar faces that I haven’t seen for many years, while also meeting the newly elected Lord Mayor of Leicester.

A huge congratulations to everyone at Mirch Masala on 30 years of success. To remain at the heart of the local community for three decades is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication, hard work and hospitality of the entire team.

Thank you for a lovely evening and here’s to many more years of success.

Well, this made me smile!

I've been nominated for an Alternative Business Award in the category:

🏆 In At 9, Gone By 5 (Most Productive Person)

Anyone who knows me will appreciate the irony of that one. Between breakfast meetings, client visits, networking events, evening functions and emails sent at less than sociable hours, a traditional 9 to 5 day isn't something I'm particularly familiar with. 😄

That said, I'll happily take the "most productive person" part of the nomination. 😊

The Alternative Business Awards, organised by The Big Difference Company, celebrate the lighter side of business while recognising the people who make things happen and contribute to our fantastic business community.

Whether I make the shortlist or not, it's lovely to know that someone took the time to put my name forward.

Thank you to whoever nominated me, it certainly gave me a smile when the email landed in my inbox.

A full on 4 days at UK REiiF representing my clients. Such a great platform to connect and reconnect with colleagues and meet so many new people within the industry. Long days and hardly any gaps to catch my breath! I didn’t even have time to get ready for the Leicester Dinner and had to pop into to get my make-up done in between appointments! Thanks to everyone who invited me to their events and entertained me. Great also to catch up with who arranged a fabulous Gala Dinner where I represented . Now for all the follow ups! See you next year . I’ll be back! 😎
