Great to have helped BWS Law - Solicitors with this course back in December. Reducing the stigma and encouraging open conversations is so important

Mental Health Awareness Week is a timely reminder that wellbeing in the workplace starts with open conversations and genuine support.

At BWS Law, we’re committed to creating a culture where mental health matters every day, not just this week.

In December, our team completed a Mental Health Awareness Course, which was both engaging and insightful. It opened up important discussions and gave us practical tools to support each other.

We’re proud to keep building a workplace where everyone feels seen, supported, and heard.

Let’s keep the conversation going.

A really worthwhile course and MH Motorbike is a fantastic organisation

We need your help to help support the mental health of bikers and their families across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Island.

We all know how important Mental Health is and in order to continue the good work we do we need more Mental Health First Aiders to join our fantastic team of Mental Health First Aiders.

You may have seen us out and about at various motorcycling events, so why not come and join us in supporting the motorcycling community? It is also an excuse to get out on your bike, meet bikers and see a variety of motorbikes. How much time you spend is entirely up to you.

If you think you may have you got a little bit of time on your hands to help and support others, why don't you sign up to become a Mental Health First Aider?

The course is subsidised and is run on-line via Zoom over 4 sessions. Details of the courses for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Island is available at https://mhmotorbike.com/mhfa/

Become part of a fantastic team to help support one of the largest communities in the UK.

I don’t post very often but occasionally I receive feedback that is really appreciated. Here are the thoughts of a learner on a course that finished on Thursday 18 July:

‘Thank you Chris for the exceptional delivery of the Mental Health First Aid course. Your deep expertise, engaging presentation style, and supportive approach created an excellent learning environment. The real-life examples, conversation practice, and practical skills were particularly valuable, making complex topics accessible and relatable. Your dedication to fostering an open and safe space for discussion was much appreciated.Your efforts have truly enhanced my understanding of mental health and equipped me with the confidence to apply these skills in real-life situations.Thank you once again for an outstanding training experience.’

So pleased to be volunteering with Shout for the last 3 years and able to contribute in a small way to this amazing level of support.

👏 Wow 👏

We’ve reached an incredible 2 million text conversations and supported 675,000 children, young people and adults across the UK with their mental health.

💬 Behind every single one of those conversations has been someone struggling to cope with suicidal thoughts and feelings, depression, anxiety, relationships, loneliness, self-harm, body image and more - we’re so glad they took the steps to text us.

⭐ A HUGE thank you to our incredible Shout Volunteers for being there at the other end of those texts, and to our staff, partners and funders - we couldn’t have helped so many people without your support.

Leave a 💜 in the comments to show your appreciation too.

After doing MHFA training you’re not expected to have all the answers or be able to diagnose or treat someone experiencing poor mental health. After all, this is first aid. And just like with physical first aid it’s help that’s given to someone who is ill or injured before any medical treatment can be obtained.

What you do learn is how to provide vital, initial support – and support that can be potentially life-saving – to someone who’s developing a mental health issue, experiencing a worsening of an existing issue or in a mental health crisis.

Dates for our next course are in July 2022 - evenings of 4th, 6th, 18th & 21st

It’s been a while since I posted but for a good reason - I am very busy delivering Mental health courses! As an example in the first two weeks of May I have trained 68 fabulous delegates on 5 courses. These have been both face to face (in Chesterfield, Luton and Hereford) and online. They have included a large hotel chain, a hospice, a media organisation, heavy engineering and the transport sector. Courses upcoming include food production, the NHS, and education, and more public courses co-delivered with the brilliant trainer Jake Kemp. It’s great to be able to help in a small way to improve the mental health of the nation.
