A domestic morning. As well as the vineyard grapes I have a few apple, pear, plum and apricot trees which I use to lead the good life and also feed my volunteers. Today I baked apple pie, apple turnovers and a pear with Stilton flan.

Good news from the Regional w**e competition held at Carlton Towers in Yorkshire yesterday, courteousy of Lord and Lady Fitzalan Howard.
133 w**es competed and only one gold medal was awarded.

Rothley W**e Estate attained:
- 4 silver medals for High Hopes 2023, Gundog 2025, King Ri8chard 2025, Total Recall 2025
- 3 bronze medals for Noble Purpose 2023, King Henry 2025, Battle Royal 2025

Our last w**e tasting of this season. The guests enjoyed the talk and tour with Mark, and then the w**e tasting with Liz. We finish the w**e tastings early because Liz, our vintner, undergoes complicated ankle surgery this week. Ouch!
