This child is not only being brutally restrained, but held in a dangerous prone position. How is this possible to happen when the RRN Standards DO NOT certificate prone restraint. This school either had uncertificated training or one of the big companies that get around doing this. Yes, these companies say they are RRN certificated (so carry the 'badge')... But .. they then have a separate module for prone face down restraint which is uncertificated. What company even trained this school to do this in the first place?? In our view, you either live by your values or you don't. Areas where we work would seek to remove practice such as this and work with this child. Support him. How is this therapeutic? ... To scare the child and end up traumatised. It's disgraceful. The question we should always ask ourselves, if hidden cameras were placed in our work setting, would we be proud to be filmed. Proud to show the world that we care!
