Introducing Benrinnes 10 Year Old – bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.3% ABV and limited to just 153 bottles worldwide.
This Speyside malt began life with all the rich, robust character Benrinnes is known for before spending over two years in a small ex-Catoctin Creek Rye barrel that had previously held Caol Ila.
The result is a remarkable meeting of worlds.
Expect layers of toffee, malt and dried fruits, followed by warming rye spice, candied orange peel, cinnamon and subtle wisps of smoke. Full-bodied, complex and wonderfully textured, with a long finish carrying notes of toasted oak, black pepper and butterscotch.
A whisky that starts in Speyside, takes a detour through America and Islay, then returns as something entirely unique.
