This conversation on beliefs is one I keep coming back to.

Not just in my work… but in my own life too.

For a long time, I carried a belief that I wasn’t “good enough”.
Even after achieving things that, on paper, said otherwise.

And that’s the thing about beliefs…
they don’t always change just because our circumstances do.

They sit quietly in the background,
shaping what we go for… and what we hold back from.

This is a big part of why I became a leadership coach over 15 years ago.

I’ve always been fascinated by how our values and beliefs shape how we think, show up, and ultimately perform.

And more importantly…
how much choice we actually have.

Because the moment we become aware of a belief,
we can question it.
We can unpack it.
We can decide what to do next.

In my work as an executive coach and occupational psychologist,
this is often where the biggest shifts begin.

Not with more doing…
but with different thinking.

Because when we think differently,
we begin to be different…
and naturally, we start to do things differently too.

What’s one belief you’ve been carrying
that might no longer serve you?

This Mother’s Day made me pause and reflect.

I know this day can bring many different emotions for people. For me, it became a moment to think about the powerful women in my life who have shaped me in different ways.

My mum was away this year. We still spoke and messaged, which was lovely. It also made me reflect on the other women who have influenced my life over the years.

Women who have supported me.
Women who have challenged me.
Women who have believed in me.

So I picked up the phone and called a few of them just to tell them how much they have meant to me.

It reminded me how much women carry for the people around them.

In my work as a leadership coach and psychologist, I see this every day.

Incredible, capable women doing so much for others, yet rarely pausing to ask themselves a simple question.

What do I want for myself right now?

Clarity often begins with one conversation.

I am opening five spaces for a one hour Power Hour coaching conversation for women who feel they could benefit from a little clarity right now, personally or professionally.

If this resonates with you, feel free to send me a message.

You may know a woman who gives a lot to others and might appreciate an hour to pause and reflect on what she wants for herself. If someone comes to mind, feel free to share this post with her.

And tonight I get to pick my mum up from the airport, which feels pretty special after reflecting on all of this.

Who is a woman who has shaped your life in a meaningful way?

Jealousy is a topic I have always been particularly interested in and close to, for so many reasons, let me explain; a) because I personally can relate to the concept of jealousy from early childhood right through to adulthood (until I decided to take control), b) because 90% of my clients would relate to of jealousy both personally and professionally, and c) because I am a psychologist who loves understanding the human brain and behaviour…and jealousy is in our nature!

I genuinely believe ALL of our EMOTIONS serve a purpose, we need to take the time to understand what purpose our emotions aim to serve.

Take Jealousy for example, as described too by , too much of it is detrimental, but in small doses it may well serve a purpose. I’m not saying to go out of your way to spark jealousy in others, but rather notice when you harbour these feelings, notice why and what it is you are ‘really’ jealous of?

This ‘feeling’ is it jealousy or envy perhaps? There’s a difference. Notice that difference (something I love to explore when working one to one).

Is trying to tell you something, perhaps it’s time for a change, maybe you need to push yourself harder, change direction or follow that dream and make a plan to ensure you succeed? Maybe if you really check in with yourself, you’re not achieving as much and you know you could?

This is what I usually find with the clients I work with. Taking the time to explore and fully understand your emotions (both positive and negative) frees you up to do something about it!

What’s the emotion you notice most for you in the present moment? ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍

Thank you for introducing me to and her thought provoking article.

Recognises women’s incredible achievements, raises awareness and encourages us to advocate for gender equality.

This years focus reminds us all to create a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, and creating gender equality in workplaces, communities, schools and beyond. This is an area I’m am passionate about for so many reasons and today is a lovely reminder to understand what biases we still hold on to, learn to let them go, and accept people for who they are, knowing the value in making the most of our ‘whole selves’.

Happy International Women’s Day. You are Incredible, YOU ARE ENOUGH.

I go through phases where I prepare and cook the same old family favourites over and over again, it then feels repetitive and gets boring and I end up loosing my enjoyment of food, have you noticed that too? (I’m a foodie, so it’s not a good combo)! Try to cook something different for a change, tantalise those taste buds. Research meals that have your favourite ingredients, try to keep it simple to avoid feeling like it’s too big a task. Importantly make sure you prepare in advance to help you commit to making something new. Make sure you’re getting a balanced diet and do this more mindfully. The next pic is some of my favs from this week. Inspire me…What are you having for dinner tonight?

January is often overrated for goal setting, especially where exercise is concerned. It’s never too late to set goals. With half term this week? It’s been a balancing act. But it’s so important to remember to be present and on the moment no matter what your doing. Find your focus, get things done, and then enjoy the time spent with those you love! Working out is always something I love to encourage in our home, and so, here’s a few pics from this week! No one ever regretted a work out. What’s your favourite exercise? With Consistency comes strength. 💪

Is anyone else craving connection? After all the lockdowns, isolations, and dark times that COVID-19 brought. One thing I will always be grateful for is that I felt connected with my household and those I love most. We had the gift of time together. We laughed, we shouted, we cried, we connected and we grew. As we ‘un-pause’ and pick up the pace after the festive break, and the January blues, we find ourselves to be like ships passing in the night. I thought things would be different, but they’ve gone back to being busy and the prospect of burnout feels real - again. So we feel tired, and disconnected. Sometimes all you’ve got to do is MAKE the time to RECONNECT. In February, the month of LOVE. find ways to reconnect, fall back in love with yourself and the beauty that exists around you.

Pg. 2 for Week 1: Reconnect, spend quality, mindful time with loved ones, friends, family, people you’ve seen and people you’ve missed. What helps you RECONNECT?

I’m dancing into this weekend!
The last Friday in January, has me up and raring to go. It’s been a tough month, personally, for so many reasons. Bring on February! Whilst I LOVE my job, my family time over the weekend is sacred and something I truly treasure. Tonight I’m celebrating. Friday night is family movie night, a lockdown ritual that got us though the pandemic has now become a much-loved (and needed) weekly tradition. Cuddles in bed with my babies, with popcorn and hot chocolate! What do you look forward to on a Friday? Happy weekend.

Communication is key. It’s easy to close up when times get tough. Notice when this is happening, to yourself and others around you. Don’t build a wall, stretch out your arm and be open to wholeheartedly and being listened to in return. Top Tips: 1. Ask open questions (how, when, why, what) 2. Listen without interrupting and without thinking about your next question or thought. 3. Enjoy the trust and openness that this fosters!
