I am a professional project manager and producer, with extensive experience devising, facilitating and delivering cultural projects across sectors including educational, health, heritage and the arts. My work involves collaboration and design with partners to manage projects, activities and events for successful delivery. In these roles, I am confident, well-networked, and skilled in engaging crea

tively with development, fundraising, partnerships and products. I am accomplished in supporting and motivating organisations and groups through participation and outreach, whilst managing programmes to improve cultural heritage, engagement, and support social development. This involves developing and collating existing information and materials, whilst forming a strategy to encourage the celebration and promotion of arts and heritage and cultural quarters. A key aim is to create new events and themes to showcase this heritage with dynamic schemes to engage audiences. Through my work, I aim to encourage participation and outreach through projects involving reminiscence, oral history, and archive material to involve a wide range of communities in creative activities. I am successful in fulfilling outcomes through exhibitions, resources and events for national organisations and charities, using these skills and my enthusiasm and focus to inform my work as a producer and cultural projects manager.

A day of making rose petal scrubs and wholesome things from the garden in the shadow of the blue moon. Followed by an unexpected drop in from a friend from Somerset which was a lovely surprise.

Also had to write a CPD essay for work. That bit was less fun.

My favourite ...

Hidden in the woods, off grid, ♥️, no fuss, just the sound of bird song, quiet chatter, the smell of wood smoke, and the splash of the plunge bath.

Perfect!

W.I.T.C.H and Sampa The Great at Brighton Dome

Last night was one of those rare occasions where music carried history, lineage and reinvention in the same breath, as legendary Zambian pioneers W.I.T.C.H. shared the stage with the extraordinary singer and rap artist Sampa The Great for a Brighton Festival exclusive that was vibrant, heartwarming, groundbreaking.

Presented with Acid Box, the evening celebrated ’s rich musical heritage while pushing confidently into new territory. It brought together one of Africa’s most influential bands with decades of influence and skill, with one of its most exciting contemporary voices, creating a collaboration rooted in (literal) family connection, artistic kinship and sheer musical joy.

Living Histories - oral history and mental health exhibition from Heads On and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust moves to Crawley Library, West Sussex.

This oral history project brought together mental health service users, clinicians, volunteers, artists, podcast producers and evaluators to share experiences exploring memories from the Community Care Act 1990 to date.

Living Histories successfully collected 37 interviews from 35 participants across , West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton & Hove. Participants shared challenging experiences with their mental health, including postpartum psychosis, eating disorders, and complex recovery journeys.

This project demonstrates the power of oral history work in mental health contexts. I’m proud to have managed it, and grateful to everyone who contributed.

With funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and NHS Charities Together 💙

Visit the free exhibition at library until 15th May.

Review: Carlos Acosta’s Carmen at Theatre Royal, Brighton

There was a palpable sense of anticipation at on Wednesday evening as audiences gathered for the opening night of Carlos Acosta’s Carmen, brought to Brighton by the internationally celebrated Cuban dancer, artistic director, and choreographer Carlos Acosta and his Havana-based Cuban dance company . By the final curtain, that anticipation had transformed into a deserved standing ovation for a production that is bold, sensual, muscular and full of heart.

Rather than offering a straightforward retelling of Bizet’s 19th century enduring tale of desire, jealousy and destruction, instead, Acosta has stripped Carmen back to its raw emotional core and rebuilt it as a thrilling contemporary dance work infused with Cuban energy, flamenco intensity and classical discipline. This is not a polite revival of a familiar classic. The result is a production that honours the spirit of Carmen while confidently making it its own.

Unexpected start to the Easter holidays! Literally had just set foot in town and was in A and E within two hours. Sigh....

Thanks to my lovely friend Jude for giving up the first day of her school holidays to keep me company at Guys and St Thomas hospital .nhs

On the plus side, whilst navigating new crutches I found a I worked on at 20 years ago. It's still up! Albeit with a fair amount of accompanying graffiti.

And have just found a municipal pool in Central London to keep mini me entertained whilst I put my foot up. £2.70!! Bargain.

Also hercules the musical.
