General information
If it's recorded, and in English, we can transcribe it. We work for three industries: Legal, Human Resources and Researchers (both academic and corporate). By restricting ourselves to just three sectors, it gives us far more knowledge and experience to be able to complete contracts quickly and accurately, without keep bothering our client with standard questions. Since the London School of Economics first hired us in 1998, we have provided our services to academia and companies across Great Britain as well as Australia, Abu Dhabi and the Netherlands. We have helped complete transcripts of recordings used in court cases and other legal proceedings. We have typed up recordings of research interviews and focus groups. For HR we have completed transcripts of recordings covering grievance, disciplinary, appeal and termination of employment meetings. PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT a transcription agency. We do not use third parties (either in the UK or abroad) to transcribe client work. All files are kept on our premises. We believe this helps to keep work confidential. The fewer times it is passed around (via email or other means) the less likely the wrong people will see it. If you have any transcription requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01273 409410 or email [email protected]

Our history...
We started way back in 1996, under the name "AP Associates", and provided a complete virtual secretarial service. However, when, in 1998, the London School of Economics first hired us to transcribe their events and conferences, we had found a niche.
We realised we were getting a lot of interest and work from university research departments to complete interviews and focus groups, especially as we had an ear for accents and would often be able to complete recordings that others had considered "difficult".
In 2003, we decided to specialise and changed the name to "APA Secretarial". Over the years the number of clients has continued to grow and we have been hired by many different companies, university departments and individual researchers.
In 2014 we decided change the name again to fully reflect that audio typing is what we specialise in, so we became "The Audio Typing Service".
