Yesterday’s install! ☀️

We’re still experimenting with different designs for these Fogstar battery installations to see what looks best.

We’ve tried metal box trunking, and now we’ve moved on to black. Personally, I think the black looks really smart, especially with the new LuxPower inverters coming out in an all-black finish.

Maybe we’ll try white next time 🤔

🏏 Darwen Cricket Club just got a serious upgrade! ☀️⚡

This installation has been a good few years in the making! Between securing funding and getting everything in place, it’s taken some time, but we finally got there! 🙌

The cricket club currently uses around 55,000 kWh of electricity per year, so this solar installation is going to make a huge difference to their energy bills.

☀️ Estimated annual generation: 28,000 kWh

💰 Estimated payback: Just 3 years!

📈 Estimated lifetime savings: Over £180,000!

Not bad for a cricket club! 🏏

And we’re not finished just yet. We’ll be returning in the future to add battery storage, helping the club make even better use of the energy they generate.

Another satisfying install completed 🤌🏼

Air conditioning installation today over in Darwen! ❄️🔥

We’ve been waiting months for Fujitsu stock to arrive, but thankfully, it’s slowly starting to come through again!

Great to finally get our hands on these units and get another installation completed.

This is the first and only Sigenergy Bidirectional EVDC charger we’ve installed so far, and it just happens to be at Dom’s house.

We installed it a while ago, but I’ve not really had much chance to put it through its paces. However, with the weather turning grim and the evenings getting darker, I’ve finally had a proper chance to test it today.

Something not many people realise is that you can actually use your electric car’s battery to power your house! 🔋🏠

So, does it work?

Well… kind of, yes

Here’s what I’ve discovered so far:

🔹 The car: 2021 Tesla Model 3. (And yes, I know Tesla aren’t exactly keen on third-party bidirectional chargers!)

🔹 Camp Mode: The car needs to be in Camp Mode to keep everything running.

🔹 The catch: It works for around an hour before the car decides it’s had enough and bugs out.

🔹 The fix: Simply unplug the charger, plug it back in and away it goes again. Not exactly ideal, especially when it’s chucking it down outside.

It’s certainly not perfect, I’m sure it’ll work fine on other car manufacturers.

Today’s install in Wilpshire, Blackburn.

We actually started this job last Monday! ☀️

The original plan was simple: remove 10 old 200W Feed-in Tariff solar panels and replace them with 10 newer, more efficient panels.

However, it wasn’t until we removed the old panels that we discovered the full extent of how badly the original system had been installed. 😬

We tried our best to repair the roof, but we were fighting a losing battle. A lot of the existing roof battens had rotted, and it soon became clear that the roof needed more than just a few repairs.

Ultimately, we decided the best solution was to replace the roof felt and battens, then install the new solar panels using an in-roof mounting system.

A huge thanks to Ox Roofing, who stepped in to strip the roof, install new felt and battens, and fit the in-roof trays, getting everything ready for us to return today and complete the install.

What started as a straightforward panel replacement turned into a much bigger job, but at least the customer now has a roof and solar installation that’s been done properly! 💪☀️
