Let’s Talk Business – Part 5: Leadership
Today, let’s turn our attention to Leadership.
And here’s the first thing I want you to think about:
The biggest leadership challenge you face may not be leading other people at all. It may be leading yourself.
You don’t need a team to be a leader.
If you’re self-employed, a solopreneur or running your own business, you are already leading every single day.
Every decision you make.
Every conversation you have.
Every plan you put in place.
Every standard you accept.
Every way you choose to show up.
All of that is leadership.
Because in many businesses, you are the window people look through to decide what your business stands for.
Your clients, suppliers, team members and contacts are constantly forming an impression of you.
Do you inspire confidence?
Do you communicate clearly?
Do you follow through?
Do your actions match what you say you value?
That’s where trust is built.
So with that in mind, here are today’s two leadership questions:
What impact do you want your business to have on your clients, your team and your industry?
What one leadership change would have the biggest positive impact on your business over the next 90 days?
Don’t rush these.
The best leadership questions are often the ones that make us slightly uncomfortable, because they force us to look at the gap between the leader we want to be and the way we are currently showing up.
These are just two of the 30 questions I explore with my coaching clients in this area of business.
The answers often reveal opportunities they hadn’t even considered.
Have a fantastic week everyone,
