Austin Heritage Consultants

Austin Heritage Consultants Professional historical research; heritage, significance and impact assessment; conservation plans; and building recording - throughout the UK.

Austin Heritage is run by Jennifer Austin, BSc(Arch) MHeritCons(Hons) FSA Scot, a heritage specialist with over 22 years' experience in the cultural heritage sector in both Australia and the UK. Austin Heritage was based in Moray until the end of 2011 and is now based in Lincolnshire, and Jen has extensive experience throughout Scotland and England. Services include the preparation of conservation

plans, historical research, heritage and significance assessments, heritage audits, character appraisals, and the development of site and building gazetteers and databases. Extensive historical research and analysis play a key role in Jenโ€™s work and as every site is different, she is keen to help her clients with their individual needs. Heritage projects have ranged from small, individual buildings (such as private houses, churches, theatres and industrial buildings) to the investigation of large sites and landscapes (including large country houses, estates and conservation areas). I am happy to provide a quotation for any work that you may require, from small packages of research, to larger reports.

US/ICOMOS statement for light reading.
I'm still lost for words.

US/ICOMOS denounces the suggestion made by President Donald J. Trump that he might order the destruction of heritage sites in retaliation for Iranian aggression in response to recent American actions in the Middle East. The United States has always provided leadership in the realm of protecting hist...

Anyone who cares about heritage in Lincolnshire and beyond (as it could happen anywhere), please take part in the Council survey ASAP - link attached below.

I am just a little livid as to the apparent lack of publicity for this consultation and the wording of the website is not positive, so feel free to share. Iโ€™m yet to go through the documents in detail, but the summary indicates the outright disposal of many heritage assets, including our neighbour, the Grade II* listed Usher Gallery, that was specifically bequeathed to the city by Usher to house his collection as a purpose built gallery and designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield.
Disposal of even this asset (let alone the others also mentioned) goes against the very reason for it coming into being and against part of the core significance of the listed building.

Iโ€™m utterly appalled at the idea of the gradual disposal of heritage assets by a Council for short term financial gain, so please respond if you can - Once they're gone, they're gone.

Please share.
