We are hoeing spring crops now. No Herbicide will go on any of our spring crops. Medium body land crops looking like this. Heavy land crops looking alot more variable. Love cultral contol of weeds. Not everything has to come from a can.
I think this has a big future in my farming system.

A video of Dad using our Claydon Terrablade a few weeks ago. Hoeing on RTK. A very useful tool on top of the chemistry. We have hoed all our winter wheat. Soon we will hoe all our Spring crops. Once they grow!

The way we farm has changed alot, i never thought half my farm would be spring cropped. Some cover crops have Buck Wheat in some dont. The stuff with Buckwheat is far superior. Hopefully that will die with the frost then i can run some sheep over it as it is getting massive. Which is worrying me for how spring drilling will go! Wheat after Spring Oats drilled with 20kgha Winter Bean companion crop is looking really good. We are looking to hoe everything next year! Great to have a cultural option in these crops.

Follow up Photo of our Spring oats. After great establishment and once through with hoe and rai. Just in the nick of time the results are plain to see.

Really really like these Spring Oats! Most fields looking like these. All hoed but you wouldn't know now.

Follow up photo of the Hoe. Weeds reduced and not competing for moisture. Crop has bounced back looking as good as ever. I'm new to this but I like being able to do something cultural to take out weeds after the chemistry is used up. We havent used any chemical yet other than round up. Got to be the way forward in spring crops.

R**e drilled with our Sumo GLS r**e drill. This drill is so good for small seeds. Its put my pheasent cover in so well and in one pass and at 2.4 metres wide its perfect for those small HLS wild bird food plots.

Its been a great year to establish OSR. I'm particularly happy with ours this year. Drilled with our Sumo Grassland subsoiler and a TWB Coulter Bar. It really is a great r**e drill and Countryside Stewardship plot drill. Its a one pass machine and compact enough to do small areas. Message me if we can be of assistance.
