A busy week of connecting with the local business community!

This week, we attended two events focused on new opportunities and making connections across Northern Ireland.

On Tuesday we attended the launch of the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council EU Trade Programme, exploring opportunities for local businesses to develop new connections across European markets.

Yesterday, we headed to NI Chamber’s Festival of Business, which was a great opportunity to network and catch up with some familiar faces.

A valuable couple of days of conversations and a good reminder of the strength of Northern Ireland’s’ business community!

Business as usual this July.

At Plastics 2000, we'll be operating throughout July to help keep our customers' projects and production schedules on track.

The only exception is the Monday 13th July Bank Holiday, with the team returning on Tuesday 14th July.

Our commitment to flexibility means we're here when you need us, providing reliable injection moulding and manufacturing support throughout the summer.

A lot can change in a few years...

This snapshot of our factory from 2019, 2024, and today reflects the progress Plastics 2000 has made over time.

As our customers' needs have evolved, so has our facility. We've increased our injection moulding capacity with investment in a dedicated assembly room, a new 300T ROMI machine, and increased automation through Sepro Group, helping us support a wider range of projects.

We're proud of how far we've come and look forward to continuing that journey.

This week at Plastics 2000, members of our team took part in a quality workshop focused on recognising common moulding defects and strengthening awareness across the shop floor.

Examples of issues such as sink marks, gas marks, flash, and short shots were reviewed to help staff better identify what to look for during production and inspection processes.

Workshops like this are an important part of maintaining consistent standards, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring quality remains embedded throughout the manufacturing process.

At Plastics 2000, we’ve recently introduced an Improvement of the Month initiative to support continuous improvement and encourage lean thinking across the factory floor.

For April, a big well done to Jenny, whose focus on improving processes within the assembly room has helped create a more efficient and organised working environment, while also taking health and safety into account.

It’s a great example of how small, practical improvements can make a real difference day to day.

Jenny received a voucher in recognition of her contribution — well deserved!
