We’ve worked our magic! ✨

🧠 Remember this one? 🧐

A little while ago we shared a horrendously installed solar system from the original Feed-In Tariff era… and it had a lot that needed fixing.

So we got to work 💪 here’s what we’ve done:

🔧 Removed the entire system so the roof could be replaced properly

✅ Reinstalled the panels correctly using rubber mounting systems

☀️ Optimised the panel layout for better year-round performance and reduced shading

⚡ Upgraded the wiring configuration for improved efficiency

🔋 Installed a new SigEnergy 25kW inverter, ready for battery storage in the near future

🧼 Deep-cleaned the panels (three times!) to remove over a decade of dirt

The result?

How NOT to install Solar PV! 😱

🌧️ Water, Water, Everywhere… ⚠️

We were recently called out to inspect a Solar PV system that had been installed poorly by another contractor — and unfortunately, it was causing serious roof leaks.

On inspection, we found:

❌ Incorrect mounting methods
❌ Flashings not fitted properly
❌ Roof penetrations not sealed correctly
❌ Installation not compliant with MCS standards
❌ Inverters mounted in a loft with limited access

Over time, this had led to water ingress into the loft space and internal damage to the property. We safely removed the whole system of 100 panels whilst the roof repairs take place. Once repaired, we’ll reinstall the system properly and the Solar PV system will be in full compliance with current MCS regulations.

Solar should save you money — not cause costly repairs 💷🚫
