Following recent restructuring, we are fully committed to building a sustainable, competitive, and proud rugby league club.
As we look ahead to the 2027 season, we are seeking a dynamic, strong leader to take the helm and drive our rugby operations forward from the ground up.
The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Head Coach to lead our rebuilding phase. This is a unique opportunity to build a team and culture from scratch.
The successful candidate will be given full ownership and autonomy over all rugby staff and playing budgets for the 2027 season.
You will work closely with the board and the Director of Rugby to establish high standards, a winning mentality, and a strong rugby culture that resonates with our passionate fanbase.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Vision: Provide strong, clear leadership to the entire playing squad and backroom staff, setting the strategic direction for the 2027 season and beyond.
Budget Management: Exercise full ownership and accountability for the playing and coaching staff budgets, ensuring resources are utilised effectively to build a competitive squad.
Recruitment & Retention: Lead the recruitment process, identifying and signing talent that aligns with the club’s values and ambitions.
Staff Management: Appoint, manage, and develop your coaching and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Culture Building: Instill professional standards, discipline, and a resilient culture throughout the rugby department.
Performance: Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality training programs and matchday strategies to maximize team performance.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Head Coach or in a senior coaching role within professional or semi-professional rugby league.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and manage both players and staff.
Experience in managing budgets and executing successful recruitment strategies.
A clear, strategic vision for building a team from the ground up.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with club management and stakeholders.
Relevant coaching qualifications (RFL Level 3 or equivalent preferred).
