Today is the beginning of Mental Health Awareness week and the theme this year is.... movement.
Movement is very beneficially to our mental health, and there are many ways in which you can do it.
Now, some people might automatically think movement = exercise = having to go to the gym, but it doesn't have to be. Yes, some people like the gym, some people don't, but that doesn't mean there isn't another form of movement you could do, better suited to yourself. You could
πΆββοΈgo for a walk in the park
π΄ββοΈride your bike
πput music on and dance around the living room
π§Ήdo some housework
π» spend time in the garden, planting, mowing, walking etc.
Movement doesn't have to involve your heart racing and you to be sweating buckets or even cost a lot. Any movement is better than no movement.
So with this in mind, what sort of movement will you be doing to benefit your mental health this week and beyond?
Lisa and I were on Liverpool Live Radio this morning with Roy, talking about this. If you missed it, and would like to listen back, here it is from around 1hr 16 mins in.
