Summer’s over ☀️➡️💻

The out-of-offices are disappearing, the diaries are filling up and it feels like everyone’s properly getting back to it.

We’re ready.

New projects. New challenges. New ideas to explore, shape and build.

If you’ve got something that needs creative thinking, smart technology - or a bit of both - let’s get to work.

Some projects just feel good to be part of.

We recently had the pleasure of designing and building a new website for the Liverpool Lord Mayor’s Charity - a project we were very happy to support completely pro bono.

The charity does important work supporting organisations and communities across Liverpool, and we wanted to use what we do best to help give that work a strong home online.

For us, it was a chance to contribute our time, thinking and expertise to something that has a positive impact on the city we’re proud to call home.

We’re delighted with the result - and, more importantly, so is the client.

It's the summer holidays, which means we've had a slightly younger member of the Kaleidoscope team in the office.

While we've all been busy with meetings and client work, Andy's son took on some drawing practice. We might be biased, but we think it's genuinely brilliant.

It's a nice reminder that creativity starts with curiosity, practice and the confidence to have a go. Here's to the next generation of creative thinkers, designers, artists and problem-solvers. We can't wait to see what they build.

Whether we're working together today, have worked together in the past, or have recently discovered Kaleidoscope, we wanted to introduce ourselves.

We bring together strategy, creative design and technology to help organisations tackle complex challenges and create better outcomes for people and places.

Our work focuses on three areas:

Health – helping people make informed decisions and improve health and wellbeing.
Skills – connecting people with learning, employment and opportunity.
Places – helping organisations understand change, demonstrate impact and create places where people and businesses can thrive.

Everything we do is guided by one simple belief:

The best digital and creative experiences don't just inform people - they enable progress.

Over the coming months, we'll be sharing more of our work, our thinking and the ideas shaping these sectors.

If you'd like to learn more about our approach - or simply start a conversation - we'd love to hear from you.

What does creative technology for people and planet mean?

In this short video, our CEO, James Kirk, gives a flavour of the thinking behind Kaleidoscope's approach to creating technology with purpose.

It's a brief introduction to who we are, what drives us, and why we believe technology should create positive outcomes for people, organisations and the planet.

To bring that thinking to life, we also share Branch - one example of how those principles translate into real-world impact.

The video was captured during a meeting of an alliance of B Corp agencies, and we'd like to extend our thanks to Nick Brincat at The Small Green Studio, who generously produced films for every agency involved on a pro bono basis. It's a fantastic example of the collaboration and generosity that exists within the B Corp community.

This week we've been delighted to welcome Thomas from Wirral Grammar School for Boys to Kaleidoscope for his Year 10 work experience placement.

At Kaleidoscope, we believe work experience should be about more than simply observing from the sidelines. It's an opportunity to gain real insight into the workplace, explore different career paths, and get hands-on experience with genuine challenges and projects.

So far, Thomas has been immersed in life at a creative technology company. He joined our Continuous Growth workshop at the start of the week, where we explored themes around personal development, habit-building and continuous improvement, drawing inspiration from ideas in Atomic Habits.

Since then, he's spent time with members of our design and technology teams, learning about user experience design, graphic design, web development, software development and emerging technologies. He's also been developing his own project, exploring how technology could help young people build positive habits, develop confidence, learn new skills and achieve their goals.

One of the highlights of work experience is seeing how different disciplines come together to solve problems. From research and design through to technology and business thinking, Thomas has been gaining insight into the many different roles involved in creating digital products and services.

We're looking forward to seeing his final concept and presentation later this week.

Well done to Thomas for the curiosity, enthusiasm and professionalism he's shown throughout the week so far.

We started this week off by bringing our team together for the latest session in our Kaleidoscope Mindset development series, focused on the theme of Continuous Growth.

Drawing inspiration from Atomic Habits by James Clear, we explored the idea that meaningful long-term change isn't achieved through dramatic transformations, but through small, consistent actions repeated over time.

The workshop encouraged everyone to reflect on:
✨ The goals they're working towards
✨ The systems and routines that support those goals
✨ How to break ambitious aspirations into simple, habitual moments that can be practised every day

One of the key takeaways was the distinction between goals and systems. Goals provide direction, but it's our daily habits and behaviours that ultimately drive progress.

It was a valuable opportunity for the team to step back, reflect on their own growth journeys, and identify practical changes that can compound into significant results over time.

A big thank you to everyone in the team who contributed to the discussion and shared their insights. We're excited to see how these small shifts help create lasting impact across the team.

You don't always need a full-time hire.

Many organisations need strategic thinking.

Far fewer need another permanent role.

Fractional leadership gives you access to senior communications, innovation and digital expertise when you need it — without the cost, complexity or commitment of building a full internal team.

The right leadership at the right time can create more impact than another headcount.

If you're facing a communications, innovation or digital challenge, let's discuss whether fractional leadership could help move things forward.

We're increasingly supporting organisations through:

→ AI workshops

→ Brand audits

→ Discovery sprints

→ Stakeholder engagement

→ Fractional strategic support

Not every partnership begins with a platform build or rebrand.

Sometimes it starts with identifying the right opportunity, aligning stakeholders, or finding a clearer path forward.

If you're navigating change, exploring new ideas, or looking for strategic support, let's start a conversation.
