Meet the Team: Ash Dawson - 5 Years at Pro Gases

Five years. Four different roles. One career that’s grown alongside the business.

Ash joined Pro Gases UK in May 2021 as Transport Manager, when our bulk CO₂ operation was continuing to grow. Since then, he’s moved through Customer Service Manager, Technical Quality Manager and now Technical Sales Manager, gaining experience across some very different parts of the business along the way.

We caught up with Ash to find out what he’s learned over the last five years and what’s helped him make those moves.

“I’ve never gone into a new role knowing everything. There’s always been a learning curve, but I’ve been given the opportunity to get stuck in, take responsibility and learn as I go.”

One of the biggest benefits of working across different areas, Ash says, has been seeing how the different parts of the business connect. His experience in transport, customer service and technical quality now gives him a broader understanding of what our customers need, something he brings into his current role in technical sales.

And what does he enjoy most about working at Pro Gases?
“There’s a genuine opportunity to develop if you want to.”

Ash’s journey is a great example of that, taking on new challenges, learning along the way and continuing to grow with the business.

After 22 weeks of training, countless early mornings and plenty of hard work, Mary has completed the Sundowner 70.3 Triathlon in York in an incredible 7:16:03 📣👏

Mary took on this huge challenge to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity, a cause that means so much to her and her family. Her original fundraising target was £300, and together you’ve helped her raise a whopping £1,100! ✌

A special thank you to our Technical Sales Manager Ash and his family, who came along to cheer Mary on throughout the day. Having that support there made an already incredible day even more special.

Mary has been overwhelmed by everyone's support and is incredibly thankful to everyone who has donated, encouraged her and followed her journey.

🚴🏊🏻🏃‍♀️From never being sporty to taking on a 70.3 triathlon!

This weekend, our Senior Transport & Operations Manager, Mary, is taking on the Sundowner 70.3 Triathlon in York, a 1.9km open-water swim, 90km cycle and 21.2km run.

Three years ago, Mary took up running, then cycling, and eventually decided to add swimming to the mix. Fast forward 22 weeks of training, plenty of 3–4am starts and countless Saturday mornings in the lake, and she’s ready to take on the challenge.

But there’s a very special reason behind it.

Mary is raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, where her brother was treated after being born with severe heart failure 12 years ago. “If it weren’t for them, he wouldn’t be with us today.”
