A warm welcome to our October start Boost members – Neil and Dan.
Desk Membership Winner – Neil Morrin
Clearly, Neil has found the winning formula, and we’re delighted to welcome him back for a third round. Here’s what he said the first time he won:
“What I do????
I drink coffee, allotment, ride bikes, build websites, do digital heritage stuff, communications, and website hosting. I also run Ignite Liverpool (open space talks) and Jelly Liverpool (open networking).
What I aim to do as a Boost Member
We were told years ago that we should take a day out from our normal work each week, to do something different as a way to think differently, to grow, and to bring those new skills back to our everyday jobs. So I want to use my boost membership to give myself some space to learn some new skills, make new things, and meet new friends. If I haven’t made 5 things by the end of this boost membership you all have permission to throw things at me.”
Workshop Membership Winner – Dan Taylor
Dan says “I’ve had quite a few ideas for projects with Wirral Code Club that I’ve wanted to work on for a while, but I haven’t really had the space, equipment, or community. One of these was inspired by seeing folk.computer mentioned on the DoES blog. I’d also love to contribute to the space where I can. What you’ve built there is really great.”
He’s also involved with WWHAM (Wirral Will Help and Make) – a community led initiative putting on workshops in things like Arduino (microcontrollers), 3d Printing, Digital Printmaking, and more. Hopefully we’ll find out more when he starts in October.
