How lovely on a recent trip to see the annual Christmas Tree Festival at Worcester Cathedral to see a tree from one of our customers Bowbrook House School. Looking gorgeous. If you are wishing to visit the festival, it runs until 6th January. Really is magical highly recommend it

Why the padlock?

Have you ever wondered why some websites have padlocks and others have scary warning signs announcing the website is not secure - what does it mean?

A padlock sign is letting you know that the website has a SSL certificate. Having a SSL certificate on your website really is essential these days, not only does it keep your site secure but without this Google will not encourage traffic to your site, so even if you think you don't hold sensitive information on your site you will still be penalised when it comes to searching.

So what does a SSL certificate actually do? A SSL certificate creates an encrypted link between a web server and a web browser it is a digital certificate that authenticates a website's identity and enables an encrypted connection. If you are typing sensitive information onto a website such as your bank details this information is encrypted. NEVER type sensitive information into a site which is not secure.
If there is no certificate displayed on a website this means that the site is not been encrypted, a cyber criminal would actually be able to see your details in plain text.

Fun fact the first SSL certificate was created back in 1994!!! The same year that the Queen officially opened the Channel Tunnel.

Here at Piefinch we love dogs!!! When you WFH they are the best companion - sad they don't make cups of tea, but they do make you take a walk during your lunch break.

Good to hear that taking your dog or dogs to work was a thing in Hollywood too. And what a great way to re home dogs

Jerome Horwitz, famous for playing CURLY in "THE THREE STOOGES", was known to all as a protector of dogs. Curly's contract with Columbia Pictures included a clause that allowed his dogs to accompany him on the studio lot. Columbia limited it to no more than two dogs at a time, this due to the puppies' unplanned on-camera appearances from time to time. You can still see those surprise dog on set invasions in the first few short films. Typically surrounded by various dogs, Curly was known to come home with a stray dog ​​and foster it until he could find it a permanent home. When the Stooges were out on the road, Curly took it upon himself to find a new home for at least one stray dog ​​in every town they visited. Curly is estimated to have saved and rescued more than 5,000 dogs in his lifetime. This makes him a man ahead of his time, with a very admirable concern for man's best friend. Dogs are family ❤
