Allen Lane Foundation (NEWLY LAUNCHED)

The Foundation is keen to support young people who are facing difficult transitions, challenges and barriers to accessing support and opportunities. Particularly young people aged 12-21 who are socially excluded or marginalised; whose experiences can be hidden or less well known; and whose voices are often erased or ignored.

This new programme is aimed at young people who are experiencing or may have already suffered significant issues within their lives.
The average grant size is around £5,000-£6,000.
This may, for example, include organisations that focus their work on: young people within the criminal justice system or those at risk of offending; looked after children or care leavers; those with significant mental health concerns or complex needs; young people who have been traumatised by challenging family backgrounds, neglect, violence or abuse; those that have fallen through the gaps in care and/or education; those already affected by, or vulnerable to, exploitation; or whose experiences could seriously impact their transition into adulthood.
Organisations working across a local area such as a village, estate or town, will need to have an income of less than around £100,000. At the other end of the spectrum, if you work across the whole of the UK you will need to have an income of less than around £250,000

Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust

The MSCT was established through an agreement between the Millennium Stadium and the Millennium Commission and its income is generated through a levy on every ticket purchased by people attending public events at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Grants of up to £2,500 are available for not-for-profit organisations in Wales that have a remit to serve their local community or town.

NB SALARIES AND OVERHEADS WILL NOT BE SUPPORTED

Funding is available for projects in the following four areas:

Sport - The Trust is keen to support volunteer-based projects, particularly from ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.

The Arts - The Trust aims to give more people the opportunity to enjoy the diversity of performing and visual arts in Wales. The Trust particularly favours proposals which expand and improve arts provision in parts of the country less well served than others and will give priority to organisations which strive to work together to share experiences, practices and ideas.

The Environment - The Trust encourages applications relating to recycling, developing green spaces, the development and promotion of green practices and the promotion of public transport schemes.

The Community - The Trust will give priority to organisations that are looking to tackle social, personal, economic or cultural barriers within their own communities. In particular, projects that lead to greater independence and give people more control over their lives will be given priority.

Please visit the website for details and to down load an application form: http://www.millenniumstadiumtrust.org.uk/forms/

Click on Forms tab and Application Form link. The guidelines are also on this page.

Applications need to be sent electronically as a WORD document with supporting information also attached (the supporting documents – bank statements and constitutions if not a charity can be pdfs).

Co-op Foundation

They recently launched a new five-year strategy, called ‘Building communities of the future together’. This outlines our plan to pioneer a more co-operative way of funding organisations so they can help create future, fair communities.

The Future Communities Fund is the first round of funding under this new strategy and this will focus on supporting voluntary organisations that are building communities that are:

* Diverse, equitable and inclusive

and

* Prioritising youth activism, shared power and transparent governance.

These are two new Foundation strategic priorities, informed by their new vision and will offer unrestricted grants of up to £30,000 per year, for up to 5 years.

The broad aim of the programme is to help create a world of diverse and inclusive communities, where the systemic issues of inequity and injustice, especially for young people are addressed.

In order to achieve this, they are looking for eligible charitable organisations which:

Have an annual turnover of £250k or less
Have young people’s voices from all backgrounds and abilities at the core of their delivery
Advocate for diversity and inclusion in all areas of society
Actively engage with young people from diverse communities in a meaningful and inclusive way
Have experience of removing barriers and providing opportunities for young people
Have experience of delivering meaningful youth social action which supports young people into leadership roles
Are able to demonstrate they have experience of co-operation/collaboration

They opened access to the initial eligibility applications at 9am on 25 November 2022 and close at 12pm (midday) on 23 December 2022.

Moondance Foundation

The trustees of the Moondance Foundation recognise the pressures the voluntary sector faces due to the cost of living crisis.

They have opened their application process to support the cost of living crisis in Wales

They are committed to supporting the most vulnerable in Wales. As a result, they ask the voluntary sector when applying to consider your priorities carefully and only apply for essential needs.
Moondance cannot support everyone, but as we did during Covid, we will be responsive and adaptable while working to get back to you as quickly as possible with our decision.
